Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday again promised supporters that Democrats would keep control of both houses of Congress as he campaigned in Omaha for state Sen. Tom White, who's challenging Rep. Lee Terry (R-Neb.).
"We’re going to pick up some House seats nobody expected us to get, just like this one here (in Nebraska)," said Biden, who also repeated his now-familiar refrain that former President George W. Bush was to blame for the poor economy.
He said the Obama administration was "turning things around ... The economy has grown four successive quarters."
Biden told the crowd of about 285 supporters that Terry supported Bush through years of deficit spending, and voted to put "two wars on your credit cards."
"If Lee had his way, we’d be going right back to where we were before we got into this mess," Biden said.
Biden arrived about 45 minutes late for the afternoon fundraiser, saying he had to complete a phone conversation with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak that had been cut off while in-flight.

I love this! This will just make election night all the more exciting knowing how shocked and stunned Nancy, Biden, and the zero will be!
This reminds me of Biden's campaign stop in fall 2008 to a local high school, an indoor event in the middle of the day with free tickets advertised well in advance. The media described the crowd in the middle sized high school gym as about 500 which would be about 25% capacity and less than half your average JV basketball game on a week night. Yet they refused to show pictures or video of the actual crowd, focusing only on the amen chorus on the podium.
By contrast, Sarah Palin drew 3000 supporters at a 6 a.m. outdoor event with less than 12 hours notice at our local airport.
