"Restore The Constitution" Open Carry Rally

Want to make a stand for your rights? Then join us on the front lines for the next "Restore the Constitution" Open Carry Rally.

Many people talk about the rights that have been removed and/or subverted by our government, they are willing to pay lip service, but in the end do nothing to actually fight back. Well this is the chance to do something noteworthy, to put your beliefs into action... a chance to stand tall with others who also want to roll back the government infringement on our rights, people willing to get out there, to step out of the shadows and put it on the line. All you have to do is show up and the more the merrier! If you know others that would come, let 'em know.

We have held rallies in VA, NM, NC, GA and we are going to be holding rallies in Georgia, New Mexico, and Texas this month (Oct), so there is plenty of action, join in the fray for YOUR liberties!

To all that may be interested in joining us for the Oct 30th Open Carry Rally at Little Five Points in Atlanta, Here is some info to get you going on the Atlanta Rally.

A mini "RTC" rally has already been held at Little Five Points, Ga in August: "RTC" members take to the streets again.

The "rules" are simple, although you do not have to be armed, most of us are showing up with "Open Carried" loaded pistols and if you wish an unloaded and slung rifle, the ammunition for the rifle may be carried, as long as the ammo/magazines are not inserted in the weapon.

If you have some "Pocket Constitutions" to pass out, all the better (should you want to get some to hand out: Order Some Pocket Constitutions), and make sure you bone up on your constitutional rights should you want to get involved in Constitutional discussions with the press, LEOs or other citizens.

I have done many of these rallies, and the people you will meet are great. So far we have had fantastic interaction with our fellow citizens including members of the various law enforcement communities. We are pressing forward for full Constitutional/Second Amendment restoration, so join us in the battle.

I'll update as necessary.

Yours in the fight,

AOV

About the Movement: The "Restore the Constitution" Rallies were put together by fellow Georgian, A&M State POC and Iraq Veteran, Daniel Almond. I have been proud to stand next to Dan at his "RTC" rallies, and I will stand with him again later this month!

What is the "Restore the Constitution" (RTC) Movement all about?

We have held quite a few RTC rallies across the country starting with the first one right across the Potomac from D.C. earlier this year: Second Amendment Activists and other Patriots make their mark at the Virginia "Restore the Constitution" Rally.

The Greensboro North Carolina "RTC" Rally.

McDonough, Georgia Constitution Day "RTC" Rally

Successful Armed "RTC" Appearance At Rockdale, GA Tea Party - 1 October, 2010

Maybe Open Carry should be a copy of the Constitution in the left pocket and protection in the right...

Apparently there's a rally in Luna, if anybody's from around there you might want to check it out. Here's what the link said:

I know time is short but we already have people confirm that they will be coming so here’s the deal. This will be kind of a “mini-rally” if you will. It will be held at my place of business (Southwest Shooting Authority) in Luna, NM on 23 October. There will be quite a few folks show up for socializing, food and brainstorming on Friday, 22 Oct. but the main event will be on Saturday. I’m still working on speakers but I will let you know as soon as we get things nailed down.

You can use me as the main contact and this e-mail addy will be fine.
The phone number to use will be (575)547-AK47 (2547).

There is something any gun owner who does their own reloads can do right now, that will help lay the groundwork for future pro-gun legislation.

The actual technical specs of how to do this I will leave up to the experts, but the idea is to mark casings to the effect of “Made in, and for use ONLY in the State of (your State).”

Right now, these are too important for actual use, so are meant to be given as gifts (casings only), in support of the Firearms Freedom Act.

The FFA says that if weapons and ammunition are made in a given State, solely for use in that State, then they are beyond the jurisdiction of the BATF. As such, both weapons and ammo would in the future be marked this way, if the owner did not want to involve the federal government in their gun rights, to distinguish them from guns and ammo that cross State lines.

But State legislatures need to get used to the idea of State sovereignty again. That many of their laws are none of the federal government’s business.

And this is a good way to say so.

Unfortunately, I think some in the federal arena have and would use the commerce clause to ask where the supplies came from, and nailing folks with the fact that, while the ammunition may have been manufactured in the state, the powder, casings, bullets, and primers all traveled across state lines at some point. I don't agree, I just know the fed mindset.

TTB (the tax and regulatory function of what was the ATF under Treasury) still regulates and audits and collects taxes and fees from brew pubs (beer made and consumed solely on premises), because they say the commerce clause allows them to since beer is bought and sold across state lines (even if that particular beer isn't). Point that out, and they'll ask about the ingredients.

You are both right on this issue, the ATF and the Feds have no standing with respect to the States Rights issue of firearms... BUT, as we all know that has made no impact on them in the past.

They have in the past and do to this day, believe that they can control the entire country and every law within it through the Commerce and General Welfare clauses.

We are slogging a hard battle here and must stand up where we can for the initial push back on these onerous laws, so don’t just talk about the injustices, get in the fight for them!

The “Restoring the Constitution” Rallies are a good start, the founder of these rallies could have called them anything, but he chose “Restoring the Constitution” for a specific reason... to get people talking about what needs to be “Restored”

and it also gives the press a difficult target to demonize, who isn’t for “Restoring the Constitution”? It has opened up some great dialogue with the press at a number of the rallies, one of their first questions is usually “what needs to be restored?” and then our extensive list(s) come out!

Will these rallies make an immediate impact? Probably not, but another seed of liberty is planted, especially if you can articulate the damage done to the Constitution by the governments over-reach on different issues.

The time for sitting on the side lines is over, the United States is in a struggle for its very soul. All must do whatever they can to help pull us out of the flames. and I believe these rallies will help by coalescing people around a good cause, and also by standing up and actually USING your First and Second Amendment Rights to show the Government that you will not be intimidated into silence!

The constitution is a masterwork of balances. One of these which is ill considered is not obvious, but very important and noticeable, since it is out of balance.

It is the balance between the federal government, the State governments, and the people. The people are supposed to democratically elect congressmen, in “The Peoples’ House”. But this was supposed to be balanced by senators appointed by the States, and the electoral college to elect the president.

With the senate, the States were able to protect their citizens from an intrusive federal government. The 14th Amendment patched a hole, by giving the federal government the ability to protect the public from an intrusive State government. (And was recently revitalized in a brilliant concurring opinion by Justice Clarence Thomas.)

But the 17th Amendment, the Direct Election of Senators, in a show of faux-democracy, stripped away this defense from the people, and let the intrusive federal government directly interfere with their lives.

Yet there remains one, and only one, constitutional process left that can restore this balance between the federal government, the State governments, and the people.

And that process is not for the people to engage, but the individual States. That is, all over the United States, 7382 State legislators should right now be debating how, if a constitutional convention were held, the federal government would be restored to order.

Importantly, I did not say that they should convene a constitutional convention. Just that they should start discussing it among themselves and each other, to see if there is a consensus that exists among 38 of the States, the number needed to pass a new constitution.

Because on their own, it is unlikely they would call one. Unless, of course, there is a major economic collapse that threatened our nation with chaos. Then, and only then, would they finally have enough motive to act.

And act they would. But it would be far better if they learned what they needed to do now, instead of then.

So it is important that our State legislators be educated, and encouraged to discuss such things among themselves.

They have in the past and do to this day, believe that they can control the entire country and every law within it through the Commerce and General Welfare clauses.

During the ratification debates, Antifederalists expressed a good deal of concern about the potential uses to which those two clauses would be put by expansionist Federalists.

Lying about them absorbed a great deal of Alexander Hamilton's energies during those same debates.

John Marshall, as Chief Justice, promptly proved the Antifederalists' point by doing precisely what Hamilton had said the Federalists would not do w/r/t those two clauses.

Addendum/erratum to my last:

The offending clauses that rightly excited the Antifederalists were the "necessary and proper" and "General Welfare" clauses, and the third leg of the unholy tripod was the Supremacy Clause (Article VI). In combination, they made Congress a potential tyrant over the People and their States.

The eventual abuse of the Commerce Clause was also foreseen, but it wasn't deemed to be as important as the other three.
