His latest ad where he talks about Texans liking to "hold the line on taxes"...what the hell does that even mean? That's not straight talk that's the liberal way of pretending to be a tax cutter. Would a new state income tax be "holding the line"?
His comment "I want Texas not just to lead the nation in minimum wage jobs, but technology and clean energy".
Then stop encouraging illegal immigrants to come here and work for minimum wage or below MW.
Clean energy is a farce. It's like reform communism and peaceful Islamic theocratic imperialism.

I’ve noticed that the Dummys who voted for Lee P. Brown 3 terms are now silent over their guy. The Comical was even so brazen as to talk about how sh&tty a mayoral choice Brown was AFTER the final re-election vote was tallied.
The anti-smoking Left also fell silent when Ann Richards went to work as a tobacco lobbyist after she was voted out. “Well everybody needs to earn a living and it IS a legal product...”

He spent every penny Houston had, and then he spent 17 billion moreIt's hilarious. Bill White's such a poor challenger to Perry... like a fish in a barrel.

“Think he will bother trying to run again in 2012 for Kays Senate seat?”
I think this entire White for gov campaign is a way for White to get his name out for the 2012 Senate race.

It was at one time, but has he exposed himself too much? He will also have to be careful about his profiteering from state deals for the next 2 years.

This was my reaction as well. I almost painted my computer screen with coffee when I read that. Gov. Good-Hair is anything but conservative,
I find plenty of people who think Perry is a conservative, and it cracks me up to no end. I start to point out all of the things that show that Perry is not much more than the Democratic hack that he was in the '80s before he switched parties, and you can see their eyes glaze over. They don't want to hear anything that could intrude on their little world where Rick Perry is a conservative.
I don't think it's a coincidence that most of the people I know that think Perry is an actual Conservative are Aggies - those people are conditioned to support their fellow Aggies come Hell or high water. Somebody puts the word out that they have to pretend that Rick Perry is a Conservative, and low and behold they all start pushing that idea.
Rick Perry is a little more conservative than Bill White but that's about as far as I'd go.
And I fully believe that if Rick Perry is given another 4 years, that he will do everything he can to revive his super NAFTA corridor that he wants to force down our throats. That's what burns me the most about having to vote for him. I know as soon as he wins, he's going to take that as another mandate to start making a land grab from farmers and ranchers so that Mexican truckers can have a smooth ride into the US.
It really is pathetic that we are having to vote for a former Democrat turned Republican who wants to give us the kind of land grabs and massive public works projects that the liberals drool over. I can't believe we are still stuck with Perry. It is just pathetic.

Kay, and I hope Perry the next time around, will have more to worry about from the Tea Party than from the Democrats. I pray that it's not too late to start putting Conservatives into the highest positions that Texas has whether it be Governor, Lt. Governor, or Senator, but I fear it's too late. The demographics are going to bury us within a generation.

Perry and the Texas house will be key in redistricting following the 2010 census where TX will probably pick up 3-4 congressional seats.Indeed.
Perry sucks but we need him to win for the good not only of Texas but of the whole country.

Absolutely.
I said I’d never vote for Perry again, and I’m eating those words.
The future of the republic is at stake here, and redistricting next year is critical. Say what you will about Perry, he can and will do his part in that battle, if only for his own best interests.
For the first time in my life, I will vote a straight GOP ticket next month.

Kay has already said that she will not be running in 2012. She may backtrack on that but she made the declaration even before she lost the Governor’s race.
Lt. Gov. Dewhurst is considered to be one in the running for her seat.

The Senate doesn't need another Texan who is buddy-buddy with the lobbyists. We need to start finding somebody to run for her seat that is not tied to any lobbyists. This is something the Tea Party groups in Texas need to be working on.
To: Jedidah
I said Id never vote for Perry again, and Im eating those words.
You and me both. I had really hoped to be done with Slick Rick but unfortunately somebody from the Clinton camp managed to sneak into the race.
It scares the Hell out of me to think what Perry will do with another 4 years if he wins, but it scares me even more to think what White would do. Anybody who thinks that Perry is done with the NAFTA corridor nonsense linking us up with Mexico knows nothing about Rick Perry. Rick Perry believes he knows better than the average Texan, and his arrogance has shown time and again.
I'm still having such a hard time voting for Perry after the infant DNA stuff came out. It makes me so damned angry that under Perry the state was sending DNA samples off to Obama's national databases without the consent of parents. That one thing alone makes me just ready to say *#@%$# it and dump the GOP in Texas completely. Even just typing that out makes me furious enough to not vote for Perry. To think that DNA from my grandchildren wound up on Nobama's DNA databases under Perry's watch...I better stop because the swear words want to come flowing out onto the keyboard.
