Party Considers Legalization Efforts in Swing States Amid Signs California Measure Is Exciting Young, Liberal Voters

Democratic strategists are studying a California marijuana-legalization initiative to see if similar ballot measures could energize young, liberal voters in swing states for the 2012 presidential election.

Some pollsters and party officials say Democratic candidates in California are benefiting from a surge in enthusiasm among young voters eager to back Proposition 19, which would legalize marijuana in certain quantities and permit local governments to regulate and tax it.

Party strategists and marijuana-legalization advocates are discussing whether to push for similar ballot questions in 2012 in Colorado and Nevada—both expected to be crucial to President Barack Obama's re-election—and Washington state, which will have races for governor and seats in both houses of Congress.

I think you would be stunned at how many conservatives smoke pot. In fact huge numbers of small business owners became that because they could not pass drug testing at corporations or gov jobs. In fact if the Republicans grabbed this issue and ran with it they could cut off the Dems balls at the root. Besides about 50% of the crime in this country is pot related, think about it for a moment.

LOL!!!

Uhbama is going after the kids because they lack the experience of meeting all of the taxes and regulations he and his band aged liberal hippies are leveling on all of us.

The young hardly care about the quality of health care, only the word 'free' excites them. And 'pot', perhaps. And the words 'green' and 'no war'.

Uhbama is going to spend a lot of time hugging trees on university property and playing Mr. Cool. He's good at it until the blinds drop and his naked marxism is exposed.

Well, hubby and I haven't done this since the mid-80’s.

Don't need to. Don't miss it.
