Interesting that VFW-PAC is supporting Ron Klein who never served in uniform over LTC. Allen West.

They are similar to the NRA. A one issue organization. In this case, veterans rights. Why people get bent out of shape over this when we are poised to take back the house and come close to taking back the Senate is beyond me. I guess we conservatives just can’t handle prosperity. Don’t count on any one issue type organization to always be a friend to our side. It’s never going to happen. Deal with it.

The “American Legion” “VFW” and other “Veteran” Orgs are infested with REMFs and maggots.
To: Minus_The_Bear
They're supporting a candidate who leaks Vets' social security numbers over a LTC? This is unbelievable...

Again, its time for FReepers to stop giving money to them, just like with the NRA and the RNC.

Yes, follow the money.
It is indeed sad when people whom you thought were your friends stab America in the back. However, they are really doing us a favor by exposing themselves.

Isn’t this the org that wouldn’t let the Vietnam Vets join??? If so, it makes sense.

We are having a LARGE brawl in NH over the VFW PAC supporting Carol Che-Porter, Commie NH. The Department is pissed, the National has gone rogue.

As a long time member of the VFW this is not surprising to me. The magazine is conservative (and well researched), but many members, apparently a majority, simply do not understand, or want to understand, the long term tragedy of government dependence and government corruption. Much of it is an old geezer thing, ala the AARP, just wanting whatever you can get out of the government and listening to those who will promise anything in that vein. It is a crowd whose enterprising energy is past.
We have said this for a long time, the very people, the older ones, who should be relaying the historical message of the tragedy of Leftism, forfeit that to their own selfish viewpoint.
It is one more reason that Conservatives need to be explicit, articulate, and succinct in their messsage. Certainly Republican politicians cannot be counted on in general for that. If there is a Republican surge in 2010 it is only as an immediate reaction to the Left. But the long term message of personal and moral responsibility as the only hope for Freedom is pigeonholed as extremist by the Media, which of course the old geezers all listen to.

Bill, I talked to John Calo (former NH state pres.) about this—he and his wife are both very active in the VFW and Legion. To say he’s pissed would be an understatement. And remember, they pulled this crap back in 2008 as well. Problem is, nobody was in a position to push back. Now we are.

You nailed it, jnsun. The VFW PAC doesn’t represent the rank-and-file membership. The PAC has become like an AARP with DD-214’s...the only thing they’re interested in is where the next “freebies” are coming from.
