A court threw out child porn charges against a Muslim cleric targeted as a terrorist by Canadian authorities, ruling purported evidence was gathered illegally.
In 2007, Brampton, Ontario, cleric Ayad Mejid, targeted by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service as a suspected supporter of terrorism, sent his laptop to the spy service to prove his innocence, The Globe and Mail reported.
Intelligence officials searching the computer without a warrant then forwarded the laptop to Toronto Police detectives who arrested Mejid, alleging they found child pornography images, the newspaper said Wednesday.
The night before Thursday's trial, Superior Judge Jane Kelly threw out the case ruling "threats and intimidation" by the CSIS muscled Mejid into handing over evidence.
Judge Kelly's written decision said the CSIS spent years targeting Mejid, pressuring him into taking a polygraph test, threatening to expose an extramarital affair and saying his "life would change" if he didn't cooperate.
"The intrusion into Mr. Mejid's computer on the basis of consent obtained by threats and coercion was not merely technical in nature or the result of an understandable mistake," Judge Kelly said. "Simply put, it was produced under compulsion."
"The CSIS conduct in seizing and searching Mr. Mejid's computer in the circumstances of false misrepresentations is reprehensible," she said.

However, is it possible the Marsupial Magistrate dismissed the images because they were porno pics of young goats AND young sheep. Could it be, is it even conceivable, that the Moslim under discussion might have been bisexual?

If they didn’t plant the kiddie porn, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service aren’t doing their job.
It would have set a dangerous precedent in any country to allow a conviction with that evidence trail.
