Sharon Angle: Reid helped child molesters get Viagra
Seatle PI ^ | 10/12/2010 | Cristina Silva

LAS VEGAS -- In the ugliest ad so far in Nevada's contentious Senate race, Republican Sharron Angle accuses Democrat Harry Reid of helping to put Viagra in the hands of child molesters. The TV spot is the latest in a string of scare-tactic ads flooding the Nevada airwaves in the final weeks of the dead-heat contest.

Reid, the Senate Majority Leader, has portrayed Angle as extreme and crazy, using her own words and policy positions to try to undermine her credibility. But that strategy has not pushed him forward in the polls.

A recent wave of inflammatory attack ads has helped Angle remain steady.

"Want to know just how out of touch Harry Reid is?" the female announcer says at the beginning of the latest ad. "Spending $787 billion on a stimulus that failed is a start. Or Reid voting to give illegal aliens special tax breaks and Social Security benefits is another big clue. But here's the kicker: Reid actually voted to use taxpayer dollars to pay for Viagra for convicted child molesters and sex offenders."

The ad concludes, "What else could you ever need to know about Harry Reid?"

The vote refers to the federal health care law.

Before it passed, Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., proposed an amendment barring federal expenditures for supplying Viagra and other erectile dysfunction drugs to sex offenders. Democrats called it a political stunt aimed at killing the legislation. The amendment died.

The health care law does not single out convicted sex offenders.

Angle's campaign defended the ad.

"Harry Reid was so intent on passing ObamaCare that he was even willing to give Viagra to child molesters to do it," campaign spokesman Jerry Stacy said.

Gotta love it when Democrats cry about Republicans playing hardball.

The health care law does not single out convicted sex offenders.

It also doesn't exclude Viagra for convicted pervs when it could have.

He is a walking ad for Viagra, Cialis and every other stimulant known to man. He reminds me of that crazy prairie preacher in that movie where the little girl gets caught in the TV....and gets pulled out through the upstairs closet or whatever....

What I dont understadn is WHY is the government having anything to do with deciding who gets viagara and whose insurance HAS TO pay for it or not.

Look at it this way...

Let’s say you invent a drug that lets men have sex.. do you think their might be a market for that? Do you think there would be any demand?

if So, then by the law of supply and demand, there should be billions and billions of pills demanded.

So... what do you do? Do you ramp up production and make billions and billions? At a mass-produced cost of a nickel each?

or...

Do you force the governmet to force the insurance compaines to pay for the drug...no matter what price... and sell them at $75 a prescription (What’s the problem? YOU only have to pay your ‘co-pay’ of $10)

THIS IS HOW THE GOVERNMENT DESTROYS THE FREE MARKET PROCESSES

I think Tom Coburn added that amendment to the Bill KNOWING the Dems would not pass it as is.

I think the Republicans attempted a last ditch effort to sabotage the passing of Obamacare by their version of a filibuster in the absence of quorum to do a real filibuster: attempting to add things to the bill in order to kill time, so the Republicans said (wink wink) this bill is missing a clause that says Sex offenders in prison should not be given Viagra, let’s add it, but the real purpose is to stall the passing until they can’t passed it anymore without going back to square one.

Naturally, the democrats voted not to add the “clause” (wink wink) and kill the bill’s passing.

I just heard on Rush today that Angle’s campaign has raised 14 million dollars. After weeks of negative ads from Harry with Angle unable to respond I guess they have all the money they need now to play hardball. It’s not like Harry didn’t throw the first brushback pitch.

In the ugliest ad so far in Nevada's contentious Senate race

If the assertions in the ad are true, what's "ugly?" The evidence is there!!!!

Very true, now he's going to get an array of 110-MPH fastballs at whatever resides in his midsection. He wanted tough, he's gonna get it. It must be devastating to Dingy Hairy to contend with an opponent who actually fights back.

Watching this ads in this race you would think these candidates were running for the penitentiary rather than the Senate.

RE: 100% True.

Hang on for a moment. If this amendment were not added, is it the case that convicted child molesters would then be eligible to receive Viagra under this healthcare bill?

Reid spokesman Kelly Steele called the ad proof that Angle, "will do or say anything she thinks will help get her elected."

And Reid will do or say anything to help sex offenders get erected.

Yes, Obamacare gives Viagra to sexual predetors.

You and your family will get veterinary type 3rd rate treatment, but the pedophiles will get their ED meds.

.
You ain’t seen nothing yet — next step is for guvmint to distribute ‘male enhancement’ drugs.

Remember that with government, size is of utmost importance.

RE: Yes, Obamacare gives Viagra to sexual predetors.

Is that in the bill? Or is it simply taken as a given?

Am I to believe that if I were to enroll under Obamacare, Viagra is part of the benefits I get?

This is a serious question BTW...
