More than 18 Revolutionary guards were killed and 14 others wounded in an explosion Tuesday at a base of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards (IRG) Corps in the Western Iranian province of Lurestan, reported Iran's official news agency IRNA Wednesday.

A Deputy Commander of the Corps said that blast resulted from a fire that spread to a munitions depot at the corps's base in Khoramabad, 300 miles southwest of the capital, Tehran, and close to Iran's restive Kurdistan region.

Saw something similar to this earlier today on Debka. Of course, you have to take things on that site with a grain of salt sometimes. They seemed to suggest it was more of an explosion than a fire. On top of that, Debka made the case the explosion was triggered by 3 separate explosions. Here is the article:

We had to replace the title you created

Fire At Iran’s Shahab-3 Missile Site

with the published title. Also the date you used

17 November 2010

was three days later than the date of the published article found at the linked site. We had to change that too.

Please do not make up your own title and date for published articles. Instead, just use the published title and the actual date of publication. We're trying to reduce the number of threads we have to pull. Thanks.

OOPS . . . my bad. I was looking at the article on a blog and clicked on the link to the RTT article. I had both windows open when I was posting and got the info from the wrong browser window.

This may be hung on either the Kurds or the Iraqi Sunnis as a pretext for Iranian invasion. Thanks GravityFree.
