INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis police said Friday morning that a 15-year-old boy from Afghanistan who has been missing since Thursday night was homesick and likely ran away.

Authorities have been in contact with the U.S. State Department as the search for Mohammed Karim Azizi, 15, continues.

Azizi, an exchange student who was staying with a host family in Forest, Ohio, was with a group of FFA students from his exchange school, Riverdale High School, visiting Indianapolis for the National FFA Convention.

Indianapolis police Lt. Jeff Duhamell said Azizi has been in the U.S. for two months and comes from a large family in Kabul, with seven siblings and a father who is a shopkeeper.

Police said the group was touring downtown Thursday night when Azizi told others he was going back to the bus at the Indiana Convention Center to head back to their hotel on the city's north side.

The group said Azizi didn't show up by 8:45 p.m. and that police were notified at 9:45 p.m. The search was ongoing Friday morning.

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security is not involved in the search at this point, police said.

Call me nervous, but I have a bad feeling in my gut about this.

Yep, there’s a big mosque about 20 minutes west of Indy in Plainfield: North American Islamic Center. Another CAIR/Muslem Brotherhood group. This kid just ‘happens’ to disappear after being in the country only 2 months.

Too convenient if you ask me. Now that I’ve said that if I worked for NPR I’d get fired - lol.

I have flown all over Afghanistan and I’m here to tell you there is nothing to get homesick about.

I’d be willing to bet a $100 that if the IPD would drop the PC stuff, get a warrant, and search that mosque you’d find that kid.

Gee, imagine that, another muslim here on a student visa isn’t where he’s supposed to be.

"There was information that when he was at the hotel ... he went up to his room and got some things. Sure enough, when we checked his luggage, some articles are missing, so ... maybe he had planned this,"

He also has his visa and passport with him. Interesting is he hasn't turned on his cell phone - couldn't be because he knows we'd track that first thing, huh. Wonder what else he took with him, especially what we don't know he had like lists or names or numbers.

Or who he’s meeting with, or who probably picked him up. That’s why I’m got a bad feeling about this.

That’s me: paranoid and bigoted when it comes to muslem students who disappear while ‘visiting’ the good ole USA.

Kid looks real happy anticipating his grand adventure to the US, huh.

Wait just a minute, wasn't there another guy named Azizi in the news recently? An article here on FR? I know that's probably like Smith or Jones (Tariq Aziz) but still could be a connection.

He will claim asylum then when he is a citizen will find a wife over there and bring over his wife and extended family from Afghanistan. He is the portal and foothold of an extended family back in Afghanistan

My Granddaughter is on her way home from the FFA Convention in Indianapolis.

I’ll have to ask her if she knows anything.

Local news is now reporting that police ‘believe’ this kid ran away. Ran away to ‘whom’ and for ‘whom’ is the million dollar question.

News is also reporting that homeland security is not yet involved. They had better d*** well get involved! (’scuse my french). So infuriating!

SNIPPET: “IMPD Lt. Jeff Duhammel says 15-year-old Mohammed Karim Azizi was last seen at Monument Circle around 8pm. He was supposed to meet with his group at the Mariott hotel and when they noticed he hadn’t arrived, they called police.

Duhammel says Azizi is believed to have run away because friends say he went back to his room to gather some items, including additional identification. They also say he was feeling homesick.

Azizi is a foreign exchange student from Kabul, Afganistan. Duhammel says his host mother from Ohio is coming to Indianapolis to help investigators.”

SNIPPET: “Anyone with information is asked to call police immediately.”

Desperately seeking Jihad?

Check the mosque. They’ve either murdered the kid or ave sent him to a terrorist training camp.
