Osama bin Laden living in comfort in Pakistan, says Nato official

Osama bin Laden is living in relative comfort in the far north-west of Pakistan, according to a Nato official who has day-to-day responsibility for the war in Afghanistan.

The official, who has access to sensitive intelligence information, told CNN that Bin Laden was not holed up in a cave, but has been moving between houses in the Chitral district and the Kurram valley, which neighbours Tora Bora in Afghanistan, from which he fled in 2001.

Recent reports had placed him much further south, in North Waziristan, the base for many Taliban insurgents moving back and forth across the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. Many of the US drone attacks on suspected al-Qaida and Pakistan targets have taken place in North Waziristan.

The Pentagon, acknowledging that a senior official had given a background briefing on the issue, refused to confirm or deny the CNN report.

The official said Bin Laden and his deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, are both in the same region – but not at the same location. Both are living in relative comfort. "Nobody in al-Qaida is living in a cave," the official said.

The Taliban leader, Mullah Omar, is also in Pakistan, moving between Quetta and Karachi over the last few months, the official said.

We just gave $2B to Pakistan.

We really should say to them: "You are a corrupt country. Elements within your country work closely with the Taliban. We know this. You will not get a single penny from the US until you give us bin Laden'd head. Go make it happen."

Pakistan would be a GREAT country to test and validate a small number of our nuclear weapons that have just been rotting away.

Comfort and Pakistan don’t seem to go together. I’m sure there are some pretty fancy homes, but it just doesn’t sound right.

It’s pretty obvious that Osama died long ago, probably early in 2002.

So what’s going on with these repeated press leaks? Is this Obama’s preparation to prepare us for a war against Pakistan?

“Nobody in al-Qaida is living in a cave,” the official said.

If not, why not? Where’s all the pressure and complaining for Obama to get Bin Laden? (Of course I know the answer. That won’t start until 2012 and Barry’s gone.)

Personally, I think he’s dead. He coudln’t resist shoving his ugly face in front of a camera if he were alive.

I call BS on this report.

First, there's no such thing as, "living in relative comfort in the far north-west of Pakistan."

Second, if NATO knew really where he was, they'd send him to his 72 virgin reward with a drone.

Third, if he ever stuck his rag head out of the ground, some of his fellow Muzzies would claim the $100 million cash reward on it ... real fast.

Finally, is there anybody with half a brain who still believes anything published by either Chicken Noodle News or the Guardian?

Osama is probably here:

Four years after federal officials quietly surrendered thousands of acres of America’s border to Mexican drug gangs and illegals, there still are “no plans to reopen” the taxpayer-owned national park lands.

Roughly 3,500 acres of taxpayer-funded government land in Arizona have been closed to U.S. citizens since 2006 due to safety concerns fueled by drug and human smuggling along the Mexican border, according to a statement posted on the website for the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge.

The section of land — about 3 percent of the 118,000-acre refuge — has been closed since Oct. 6, 2006, when “there was a marked increase in violence along the border due to human and drug trafficking,” according to the statement released Wednesday by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

“Comfort and Pakistan don’t seem to go together”

There are some extremely rich people that live behind tall walls in Pakistan. In that way it is similar to Mexico. There is 1-2% of the population that is extremely rich and the balance are extremely poor and illiterate. Those are the ones we see on TV. We sold a puppy that went to one of the rich folks. He had attended Harvard for his MBA. His undergrad was also ivy league. He had also worked at Google. He had lots of servants back home.

The 2 billion should have been split between Iran and Pakistan, as terminal payments delivered aerially.

In the meanwhile there is much merriment in the taliban camps ~ for now they have food and weapons, praise be to allah, barrack hussein and the stupid American taxpayer. Chants of “Death to America, Death to the Stupid Infidels” are now continued on full stomachs more vociferous than ever.

He’s even got a tempurpedic. And a BigBIgScreen, living expenses and food courtesy of the American Taxpayer via our friends and allies, the Army and the ISI.

One could ask Hamid Gul.

And why was Khalid Khwaja, an exPAF pilot who was Osama’s private pilot subsequently, killed after visiting this area this past spring.

What did our helicopter come so close to in Kurram when it blasted that PakArmy post? Drone attacks never caused that reaction from Pakistan before - closing the supply route to Kabul.

The War in the Shadows continues.

From your LWJ link....

The Turis have battled the Taliban for years, and have fought them to a standstill [see BBC report, The Pakistani tribe that is taking on the Taliban, for more information on the Turis’ struggles in Kurram]. Despite driving the Taliban out of their area, the Turis remain cut off as the Taliban continue attacks along the single road that connects the remote area to the rest of Pakistan. The Turis have not received support from the Pakistani military.

.......I do hope that we are helping these brave Turis stave off the onslaught of WahhabiDeobandi fanaticism.
