Poll shows Tancredo tied with Dem in Colorado governor's race
The Hill ^

By Sean J. Miller - 10/22/10 02:48 PM ET A new poll shows the Colorado governor's race in a statistical tie between Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper (D) and former Rep. Tom Tancredo.

The result should concern Democrats who had expected Hickenlooper to coast to victory with the conservative vote split between Tancredo, who's running on the American Constitution Party line, and Republican nominee Dan Maes.

But Maes has been steadily bleeding support after a series of damaging press reports crippled his candidacy. In the Magellan Data and Mapping Strategies survey released Friday, he took just 9 percent of the vote.

To the RINO elite: Howls, Bruce. Howls of derisive laughter.

Better go buy a new pair of Italian loafers to cheer yourselves up.

Can Tancredo still win with Maes getting 10 percent. Right now Maes is getting 9 percent and Tancredo is ahead or at least tied. We need to find that magic 10 percent for Maes AND have Tancredo win so that Republican Party stays a major party. I think it can be done.

He was on Mark Levin’s show tonite sounding very strong and very good. He was talking about how insane the left is out there in CO (well all over really but he was speaking of those close). Talked about a little boy that was killed by an illegal alien who crashed a car killed 2 others plus the little boy. Anyway, turns out the guy had been arrested 19 times! Unreal.

It would be a huge victory if Tancredo wins this.

The GOP is in grave danger of going the way of the Whigs. A RINO is a Whig with no hair...

There were constant muggings in the 16th. st. mall area in Denver. All caught on surveillance cameras.

After an outraged response from the people the scum was rounded up...........and promptly released.

Bunch of black miscreants preying on white folks because they were white. This statement from the mouths of the muggers themselves.

Thanks Mayor Looper.

God, why doesn’t Maes drop out of this...? Another RINO putting his finger in our nose.

I saw him on Fox the other night. VEry straight and confident. Tea Partiers beat him out during the primary? Did we support the wrong guy?

Why doesn’t Maes drop out. It is clear that if he does, Tancredo wins.

I am of the opinion that it might be good for the Republican Party to temporarily receive minority status.

If it is so onerous for a minor party to get on the ballot that it would be an anchor for the Republican structure to do it, the laws need to be reformed.

It might also do the party good to have to get out there and do some retail canvassing. While they are getting signatures, they can reacquaint themselves with their electorate.

That was just last year wasn’t it? I remember that from the different threads being posted on here. What struck me was the fact that they openly admitted it was because the victims were white. The media really did a bang up job reporting it too. /s

Personally I always really liked and supported Tancredo. He was flamed on here so much though I though I must have been in error somehow. Maes is behind but refuses to drop. I have to believe that the people of CO will cut through all the BS and vote for the best choice and to hell with labels. He also spoke about how all the 'elites' out of the beltway are supporting Maes because he has an R. I don't think that's it at all because if that were true, they would have supported O'Donnell and a number of others that have an R. No, it's because he is conservative that they do not want him elected.

He was only flamed by the FR Squatter Support Squad. Sadly, they’re still around.

Why doesn’t Maes drop out.

Maes knows without a doubt that he can't win. He knows that at this point he can only act as a spoiler and give the win to Hickenlooper. And the fact that he knows that yet continues to run tells me what a bitter, little man he is. His ego comes before the good of the state and everyone in it.

I think it was this year. Videos of blacks mugging white people walking along minding their business.

At one point the Denver Post actually printed the name and address of one of the white victims who dared to call 911.

A message of intimidation, IMHO.

Tea Partiers beat him out during the primary?

He wasn't on the primary ballot. It's a very long, twisted story. The short version is that Maes barely beat out McInnis (who had some plagiarism skeletons in his closet), the Republicans' "annointed one," in the primary, but then a truckload of Maes' skeletons started showing. Then Tancredo, fearing there would be no credible opponent for Hickenlooper, threw his hat in the race. He offerred several times to bow out if Maes would do so too (so the party could appoint another candidate), but Maes refused.

That’s outrageous! Lawsuits take time but if there ever was a case, that would seem to be it. I wonder if that person was harassed further.

So much has happened in the past couple of years it’s hard to remember a timeline. It’s been a big blur.
