Pa. Sen. debate: Who's the extremist?

Pennsylvania’s competitive Senate race can be boiled down to a simple back-and-forth: You’re an extremist! No, you are!

Those were the volleys traded once again by Democratic Rep. Joe Sestak and Republican nominee Pat Toomey Friday night, as the two used their second and final televised debate of the campaign to paint the other as out-of-step with mainstream Pennsylvanians.

Sestak said Toomey is “on the fringe of his party.” Toomey said Sestak is “to the left” of Nancy Pelosi. In the end, each had landed some punches, but neither suffered anything like a knockout blow.

“The only time Joe has stood up to his party was to promote his own personal political career,” Toomey said, referring to Sestak’s primary challenge against Sen. Arlen Specter, mounted over the objection of party leaders.

“One of the zaniest ideas I’ve ever heard was that [Toomey] wants to eliminate all taxes for corporations,” Sestak said, echoing one of his more effective TV ads.

The debate at WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh came just two days after the candidates faced off in Philadelphia, and with outside groups continuing to pour millions into the race. From the start, the contest has provided the cleanest of ideological contrasts—Toomey as a staunch conservative vs. Sestak as a wholehearted supporter of Democratic Washington’s policies.

The most lively moments came when Sestak cited from Toomey’s book, “The Road to Prosperity,” to assail his fiscal vision—especially when it involves “creative destruction” in the economy.

“I’d recommend people buy my book, not the least of which is because I’d like to have the royalties,” Toomey joked at one point. “But you’d also find out what’s really in it instead of what Joe says about it.”

When Sestak invoked the book again later, Toomey said, “I appreciate you selling my book, Joe.”

Joe Sestak is a fake and a fraud. He's so liberal he makes Pelosi and Reid look like moderates. All the guy does is rant about how the Pelosi/Reid/Obama agenda doesn't go far enough. It went too far for me. Joe Sestak is one of the most extreme candidates on the left. A 100% voting record with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi is nothing to be proud of.

Anyways, here is the video of the debate from C-SPAN:

I think Toomey clearly won the last debate and on its strength I predict he'll go on to win by a margin too great for inevitable Demonrat vote fraud to undo.

The national “extremist” discussion is an interesting one.

America was founded for the very purpose of liberty. When the 'Rats say that people who want liberty are "extremists", then they have outed themselves as totalitarians.

Just to take one instance, which is the “extremist” position, killing babies or saving them?

Or, to take another, which is the extremist position: breaking up families, encouraging single motherhood, teaching little kids that it’s good to be gay, teaching minorities to hate their “white oppressors”? Or standing up for decent families and well-brought-up children who understand the difference between good and evil, so they have some chance of entering into life and making informed choices?

My wife and I just took a big driving trip through Idaho, Utah and Colorado; I then flew to Maryland and drove through Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania. We live in California.

My 2010 campaign season conclusion is that every Democrat campaign across the entire land is using the same agency because they are all running the same ad: "[Insert Opponent Name] is just to extreme for [Insert State Name]."

You and I know that but the incompetent Republican Candidates seem to have a Hard time articulating that obvious point.
Why is it so hard to explain to the public that everyday this Marxist is in the White House More of you Freedoms are exterminated.

That is the only strategy left for them as they can't run on record and are playing to their base which all the loony people you can find on Daily Kos and DU.

This is only successful because the Republicans have not taken off the gloves and explained, in fairly simple terms, how utterly extreme and out of touch DemonRATs are.

It would be sooooo easy . . . .

The DemonRATs have given a 3 trillion dollar payoff to thier Wall Street buddies and unions, which, of course, has made Social Security BROKE! Did you get your cost of living increase the last two years??? Is 10% unemployment better than 4.5% unemployment??? Yep, DemonRATs will protect your Social Security, all the time robbing from it so that your benefits decrease every year to the point that it is worthless. Do you want a gubmint stooge telling you what medical care you are allowed??? They are still demanding that affirmative action mortages be let, and they are leaving us taxpayers, and our children and great great great grandchildren, holding the bag. Are you happy that the DemonRATs have regulated your toilet and are forcing you to replace all of your lightbulbs??
