Journal Endorsements for U.S. Congress (NM-Just Wow, all Republicans)
The Albuquerque Journal ^ | October 23, 2010 | Albuquerque Journal Editorial staff

Posted on 10/23/2010 11:53:14 AM PDT by CedarDave

This election is about a clear choice on America's way forward. It's about whether you want a government to take care of you, or one that gives you the opportunity to take care of yourself and prosper through your own hard work.

If you believe more government programs, subsidies and regulations — all enacted with good intentions — are the way to lead us out of recession and make us competitive in a tough global economy, then the three Democrats seeking re-election to New Mexico's U.S. House of Representative seats would be the way to go.

If you think we need to reinvigorate the private sector, unleash America's entrepreneurial spirit and have a government that will take steps to make the Intels of the world feel this country is a good place to invest money, we think you will reach a different conclusion.

The Albuquerque Journal is recommending a second wave that helps restore balance to Congress and places an emphasis on people over government programs to right the ship.

District 1 — Jon Barela
District 2 — Steve Pearce
District 3 — Tom Mullins

Unbelievable, Journal endorses the entire Republican list for Congress. BTW, Pearce is up now, maybe beyond the margin of error and Mullins is creeping up on Lujan in the heavily Democratic District 3 (Udall's and Richardson's former district). I haven't been following Barela; maybe some ABQ reader can update.

It reads as if the Tea Party took over the Journal!

Wow! Last I saw about Barela, it was neck and neck. Last poll I can find shows 48 - 41 with Heinrich leading, 11% still saying undecided. 5% margin of error.

How drunk did they have to get afterward to kill the pain of those endorsements?

Please add me to your list.
We are relocating from AZ to the Ft Sumner area. I’m thinking I’ll vote in AZ this time. Just can’t get up to speed to vote here, this time.

OMG I can’t believe it. I feel like Lujan will win District 3 but Lord I hope not. We live in this district and lose our vote everytime. It would be a miracle if Tom could pull this out!!! Denco

Change my name? No way! We are westerners through and through! Took that name while we were living in South Carolina...could not wait to beat it back west! Anything west of the Mississippi is home to us.
Very small, and loving it!

Fort Sumner, very small town New Mexico.

And not far from Santa Rosa...and the Silver Moon Cafe.

The best New Mexico food outside of Santa Fe and Chimayo.
