California is a lost cause. So sad.

You hit the nail on the head...the once-Golden State is a goner. In fact, there’s an interesting parallel between California and New Jersey, another deep blue state.

Fiscally and politically, both were like a couple of alcoholics after years of boozing. The good folks in Jersey woke up, found themselves on the floor, covered in their own vomit, and said (collectively) this is killing us...it must stop now. So, they they’re doing the equivalent of rehab and AA. They elected Chris Christie governor, and (with the exception of the teacher’s union) they’re supporting him in making the tough choices. New Jersey has a chance.

Meanwhile, the electoral majority in California is taking the opposite approach. They’re scrounging for money in their pockets and the sofa cushions so they can get more booze. Re-elect Boxer? Put Jerry (I don’t have a plan Brown) back in the governor’s mansion? Reject a ballot initiative that would roll back a jobs/revenue-killing global warming law? Any state crazy enough to do all of those things—in the same election—deserves its inevitable fate. There is no hope for California.

We can only hope the Republicans hold the line when Brown comes begging for a bail-out. I can see the headlines in the LA Times: GOP to California: Drop Dead.

Of course, the Times (and its Democratic political allies) will never admit that California’s demise won’t be muder, it will be a suicide, orchestrated by the Dims, RINO Republicans and the public employees union.

Any thoughts on where the Reagan Library should move when Kalifornia goes under?
