If you’re a left-of-center media personality and you use your national TV platform to call a candidate for the United States Senate a “bitch,” how might you be rewarded? Apparently in this day and age, you’re granted an interview with a former sitting president of your political party.
Even though he wasn’t one of the most distinguished presidents of the United States, former President Jimmy Carter appeared on Joy Behar’s HLN program to promote his book, “White House Diary.” During his interview, Behar asked Carter to offer his assessment of Barack Obama’s performance as president.

You know, every now and then a blind hog will find an acorn, and every now and then, Jimmy Carter can be right, even when it’s for the completely wrong reason!
Carter is right, in that the Obama’s low ratings are because of the media. They anointed him as their (and America’s) Messiah. He was the one who was going to heal the planet, and lower the seas (didn’t he actually say that in one of his speeches?) The media didn’t just put him on a pedestal, they presented him as the only choice to save the nation from the evils of the previous 8 years of republicans.
So assuming that Obama isn’t really the Messiah, he was bound to fail. Couple that with the very real fact that Obama is a typical Chicago political thug, which the media didn’t just “miss,” they actively hid it from their audience. They didn’t just hide the fact that nobody really knew anything about this guy, they hoisted a bunch of lies upon the public. Even worse, I distinctly remember one news show where a roundtable of pundits assured their audience that Obama wasn’t going to govern as a hard core leftist, even though he had years of statements that kept trickling out proving what a leftist he was. “No, no, he didn’t really mean it way back then...” The “Joe the Plumber” incident should have been enough to prove to the world that Obama was STILL a hardcore leftist, but instead the media attacked “Joe the Plumber.”
There was no way he could possibly stay popular once the public realized what a leftist he really was. And it was the fault of the media for presenting him as something decent and reasonable, which of course he’s not, and they fooled a majority of the electorate.
