Poll: Crist Slumping Toward Third Place In Senate Race - Rubio up 20
Sunshine State News ^ | 10/28/2010 | Kenric Ward

According to Sunshine State News' nightly tracking poll, in the U.S. Senate race independent Charlie Crist has lost 2 percentage points since the surveys began Oct. 13. Meanwhile, Republican Marco Rubio has padded his lead by 4 points and Democrat Kendrick Meek has picked up a point.

Crist calls himself an "optimist," but his sunny disposition is being tested as never before.

With Rubio running away with the race -- he holds a 47-27 lead over Crist -- the only real contest to be decided is who will finish in second place.

The race for silver is getting tighter by the day, with Meek edging up and Crist falling back. On Oct. 13, Crist led Meek 29-22. Now his margin has shrunk to 27-23.

Some of that decline may be attributable to Crist's lackluster showing in the televised debates, where he has been hammered from both right and left by Rubio and Meek.

Didn’t the last poll say he was up only by 7? These polls are crazier than a NY bedbug.

Some of that decline may be attributable to Crist's lackluster showing in the televised debates, where he has been hammered from both right and left . . .

Could it be that Crist is less of a lackluster debater than arguing the "moderate" viewpoint is a lackluster position?

As a moderate conservative I take positions like a gradual phase-out of social security or hymn singing at public hangings.

Moderate liberals take positions like maintaining a healthy private sector to generate the taxes necessary to support the nanny state.

What positions do moderate moderates take? Taxpayer funded abortions only for those who can't afford it?

SSN, I believe, is right-leaning.

Every rag in Florida from the Orlando Sentinel to the Tallahassee Democrat to the St. Petersburg Times and the Tampa Tribune are unabashedly liberal.

Most of the MOE polls are from the papers. This one is likely more of a conservative poll, I’d guess.

This has been a vary interesting race with Meek and Crist. They have set themselves up to be lose/lose with the dropout conversation. If Meek drops out, I think they lose a ton of dem support who simply will not show up. Crist would get some bump which would make the race closer but certainly I don’t see a way that Crist can beat Rubio.

With all the talk of Meek dropping out, it only lowers democrat expectations and further depresses the dem turnout. Sink ends up being the loser either way as dem turnout is being depressed.

Hopefully this will carry over to the amendments as well!

Meek is smart to stay in the race. He will be enhanced by finishing second and will get some nice offers for the next chapter of his career.

Concur. This drama likely hurts Sink.

I think Crist leaked the story to hurt Sink as payback to Obama for not getting Meek out of the race.

BO cares only about the gubernatorial races in OH, FL and CA.

Crist: if I am going down, I am taking Sink with me.

I hope Crist is humiliated on Tuesday and comes in third.

I think that Charlie Christ looks like the power-grubbing opportunist he is. He has the most name recognition, as governor, but a lot of that recognition by this time is for corruption and opportunism. He makes Meek look like an honest and straightforward guy, by comparison.

Charlie would leave a slime trail if he didn’t wear shoes, it’s getting more obvious every time he opens his mouth.

“public hangings”.
Great idea, hold them in local sports venues.
$10.00 a ticket and add pay per view and help take care of the debt.
Plus you lay a real lesson about doing that crime thing

Saw Crist on Greta last night he was pathetic. Rambling dem talking points about “right wing extremists” and fetal stem cells curing everyone of everything.

If this were Texas, I’d be rooting for the DemocRAT to finish third, because for the next four years the DemocRAT party would be listed third on every ballot for every election in the state.

Don’t forget the hymn singing to show the compassionaite side of conservatism. As an added bonus, it will really, really p*ss off the ACLU.

and to think Crist goes on FOX news telling Greta that “Most Florida Voters” do not want Rubio to win cause he’s an extremist and bad for Florida.,,hmm,,that’s like Alan Grayson stating that he is a completely normal person.

You saw that LOL... Greta's BS meter was going off the scale, and Crist was bumbling badly... Greta nailed him.
