Ive been meaning to write about this for several days, but its been a busy week. I saw Sarah Palin and Marco Rubio, at the same event in Florida last weekend. Palin, of course, was the star attraction, but having heard them both speak I wonder how long it will be before Rubio moves to the top of the billing. Palin can still fire up a crowd like no one else on the Republican circuit, but remains a raw talent. In her stump speech she can lose her thread and flit confusingly from one subject to another. She clearly doesnt have Matthew Scully writing for her any more. Rubio on the other hand was immensely better scripted, more polished, and showing signs of the charisma that has made Palin such a political celebrity. He framed the midterms as a choice between Obamas quasi-socialism and true American values. Whatever you think of his argument, it was well made. Granted he was on home turf, but his address was better received than Palins. A senate seat is almost certainly his. This event in Florida suggested that in the long run it is he who will be headed for greater things.

What an idiotic headline in the light of whats going on I have to question the motives.
Both people are fighting on the same side for liberty and for love of country.
You my friend are not...
Just noticing that amidst the Crist-Meek dust-up, there were comments that the White House and Dem leaders are worried about Rubio and his potential for greater things.
Your time is up buddy, go away. Drop a post and run away. FReepers, he does it all the time.
Considering he’s writing for the UK based Telegraph I’d say you are correct. He is not writing for love of country. He is simply making an observation.
That being said, the author is right, Sarah Palin will never be president until she masters forensics.
Rubio will be on the GOP Ticket in 2016, either for Prez or VP.
Palin/Rubio; Rubio/Palin.
Either way works for me.
We need to hear more detail about the issues from both these politicians before either is escorted into the Oval Office. I’ve heard several talking heads this week who want to move Rubio in immediately. Early infatuation can always lead to unwelcome surprises.
He is not making an observation he is trying to cause division why someone would find this necessary to post is beyond me or suspicious at best.
I heard Rubio speak at redstate’s conference last year. No teleprompter of course. Excellent speaker. Hope he does well on Tuesday.
Marco Rubio is in his 30’s and needs more seasoning, for sure. Elements in both parties have a tendency to want to elevate promising minority candidates more quickly than they deserve. And by deserve, I mean to give them the time to grow into their roles rather than over-promote them prematurely, then turn away when they disappoint. (E.g., Jindal’s rebuttal to Obama’s SOTU.)
George W. Bush will also be in attendance, but with a paper bag over his head.
Republican candidates dont want to be seen with Sarah Palin publicly
Castle never flipped to the Democrats while he was in the House of Representatives, even though that would have given him a lot more power in being in the majority. He also promised to stay with the GOP, and no one has ever questioned Mike Castles integrity.
Still trying to figure out why Sean Hannity and Sarah Palin thought endorsing O Donnell was a good idea.
Mike Castle's losing the Republican primary in Delaware will probably result in Chuck Schumer being the Senate Majority Leader instead of Mitch McConnell. Mark Levin, Sean Hannity and Sarah Palin have some explaining to do.
George W. Bush is a real dirt bag
I like Marco Rubio so much better for President. Sarah Palin is just a nice, likable Alaska housewife. People dont crack jokes about Rubio, he is respected.
No one ever said that Carter wasnt bright. He was an ultra-liberal . . but he was smart enough.
Rubio can easily be the VP choice in 2012. You would have to be crazy not to consider him, especially since he is from Florida.
He could even make a run for the the Presidency in 2012, but only if there is a pretty strong draft movement for him. Not likely, but it could happen.
You are mis-quoting me out of context.
PS. The farm team prospects to be rookies on Nov 2nd too.
Obama has ruined the Democrat party. That is the one thing he has done that I applaud.
