Malu Aina calls for an immediate end to the U.S. illegal wars of occupation, and major cuts in military spending and increased spending to meet human needs. Locally, we call for an end to all live-fire and activities at PTA that create dust. Comprehensive independent monitoring and clean up of DU, unexploded ordnance, and other military toxins should be done at military expenses. The entire process needs to be transparent and have the confidence of the community, which to date is sorely lacking. Well darn good thing we aren't in any.
As much as I disagree with the Democratic Underground, I feel strongly in their right to exist on principle.... oh, he means Depleted Uranium. Another sucker buying into the lefty BS that it is the same as Uranium 235.

I’ve been to a lot of these meetings at my kid’s schools over the years, but I never saw any such activities.
If that had been going on, I would have attended more often.
Considering the state of public schools, a live fire activity seems appropriate.
Had one insist the Pearl Harbor sneak attack was America's fault: if we had not committed the aggression of basing our fleet there, etc. etc.
Pohakuloa Training Area (PTA) is located on the island of Hawaii between Mauna Loa, Mauna Kea and the Hualalai Volcanic Mountains.

Rosanna Rosanna Dana: “Nevermind!”
Que?
After nearly 22 years of army service, including many handling depleted uranium tank rounds, I suffered no ill effects to anything but Agent Orange in Vietnam. The greatest threat to our men and women in uniform is not to receive proper live-fire training under simulated combat conditions that are as realistic as possible. If everyone takes a “NIMBY” (not in my backyard) approach, the blood spilled by our servicemen and women will be on their hands—and rest assured, there will be much of it. . . .
