(CNN) - Keith Olbermann, MSNBC's primetime firebrand host, has been suspended indefinitely for violating the ethics policies of his employer earlier this year when he donated to three Democrats seeking federal office, MSNBC announced Friday.

"I became aware of Keith's political contributions late last night. Mindful of NBC News policy and standards, I have suspended him indefinitely without pay," MSNBC President Phil Griffin said in a statement.

First reported by Politico and confirmed by Federal Election Commission filings, the primetime television host gave $2,400 – the maximum individual amount allowed – to each of the campaigns of Kentucky Senate candidate Jack Conway, and Arizona Reps. Raul Grijalva and Gabrielle Giffords. (View PDF's of FEC filings for Conway, Grijalva, and Giffords)

I hope “indefinitely” translates into FOREVER!

I suspect it won’t though. Olberman will sit out for a while, then give a watery useless mea culpa and blame the GOP/Tea Party/Sarah Palin for forcing him to making those donations.

MSNBC will accept his apology and he’ll be back slinging the same rehetorical BS he’s been slinging for years.

"I have suspended him indefinitely without pay,"

Sounds the same as being fired to me.

Olberman made donations, big deal. It was his money, it was filed properly by law and lets be honest who is surprised by this?

Couldn't happen to a nuttier guy (well, maybe if Crazy Eddie Schultz joined him...and Crazy Larry O'Donell...and Crazy Rachel Maddow...and Crazy Dylan Ratigan...and...)

Guess that's why Keithie was apparently hitting the sauce way before the election was over the other day, he KNEW he was going to be busted for NOT HAVING ETHICS. LOLOLOLOL. :-)

according to Michael Savage, Keith has some real serious problems which prevented MSNBC from firing him. Americans with Disabilities Act kind of stuff.
