I’d be more interested in a Ragnar Danneskjold tax.

This stupidly equals giving money to dictators who pocket the money and leave their poor countries destitute.
It never works the way originally intended.

So, who is going to give the USA their money? I suspect if you take income minus debt, we are “poor.”

What is a “rich” nation?
Have they looked at the state of our national finances recently?
The US is not a “rich” country.

Still, the tax's supporters, which include unions, environmental groups, Comic Relief, UNICEF and others in a multinational coalition, say A hive of scum and villainy.

Property rights.
Without the rule of law, Robin Hood can forget it.
To: Sub-Driver
IIRC, Robin Hood took from the sheriff and/or tax collector and gave the the assets back to the people from whom they were confiscated. Am I right?

Government forced handouts NEVER help the poor. They just make governments bigger and poor people dependent.

The Robin Hood tax -- a global financial transaction fee that could raise hundreds of billions of dollars to pay the cost of the global financial crisis and support developing nations struggling to recover -- is not popular.
You don't say.

Robin Hood, in the book, did not Steal from the “Rich”... He stole from Government and the Church (like the libs and teachers union) and GAVE IT BACK to the POOR.
Sounds like a great Idea in that light.

Obama would love to take money from the hard-working people of this country that he hates and give it to people who hate us.
To: Sub-Driver
Robin Hood didn’t rob from the rich and give to the poor.
Robin Hood retaliated against the sheriff for confiscatory taxes and returned the money to the screwed tax payers.

Insane idea but hardly shocking when you look at who's promoting it. Fortunately, Obama has no legal authority to do this - but that doesn't mean he might not try. The left is obsessed with the absurd concept that the U.S. is only 'rich' because we've taken what rightfully belongs to 'the poor'. Apparently that now extends globally. Utter insanity fueled by class-envy and white-hot hatred for American execptionalism. Although the world's thug dictators must love this idea, a lot of financially comfortable American leftists also embrace it. How sad.
