The mystery of the missile over Southern California can easily be explained as only an optical illusion from a passenger plane contrail.

This explanation is such BS. I think with Obama out of the country, it was a shot across the bow to prove how lax our defense system has become. No one DARES to tell the truth for fear of retribution.

Who in the world believes the government’s word on these events? Remember the airliner that went down right before the Atlanta Olympics and Clintoon assuring us that it wasn’t the missile that everyone saw that brought it down? A few years later, there was 9/11, an attack not even the Democrats could spin as non-threatening.

I thought there was video on this. A still picture of a contrail could produce that picture over the horizon, but didn’t the video show how fast it moved? The speed would rule out an airplane.

If it was not a military missile then why were there NOTAM, Flight Restrictions and ship restrictions in the area? Why black smoke and visible flame? I think it was a warning shot to either terrorists or N. Korea.

Now that you say so... I’ll believe it. Or not. Kool-aid anyone?

The chorus of “It’s contrails, and anyone that thinks otherwise is an idiot” alone is cause for suspicion.

Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes truth.

Has anybody anywhere ever seen a passenger aircraft with that rate of vertical climb?

That’s not the illusion part of the whole story. The illusion wasn’t optical at all.

There was an almost identical video the very next day shot by a local news station. Are you saying there were missile lunches two days in a row?

It was the "Heaven's Gate" mother ship. It decided to leave after waiting for a couple days - noone around to pick up...

"Dammit, they never told me they'd be late getting here!"

Maybe that missile lunch was from a submarine. Or a hoagie.

So far, the best science I've seen on this subject indicates it was indeed a jet contrail. Everything else is just anecdotal musings.

I think someone needs to tell us WHICH plane specifically made this contrail. Surely, the FAA can tell us this. Right?

I’m guessing there is a “missile shot” happening in that same location almost every day.

Clearly that second video is all part of this giant conspiracy. ;)

Do jets typically take off from 35 miles of the CA coast?
