Earlier, Clinton announced that the United States has transferred $150 million in new aid to the Palestinian Authority to help close its budget gap.

"This new funding will help the Palestinian Authority pay down its debt, continue to deliver services and security to its people, and keep the progress going," she said. "It will support our work together to expand Palestinians' access to schools, clinics and clean drinking water in both the West Bank and Gaza [Strip]."

I cannot tell you all how FURIOUS this makes me! Can we get Congress to pass a law saying, that when the US donates TAXPAYER dollars to other countries, that WE the TAXPAYERS, actually get a say in where it is going?? And that it should NEVER go to TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS THAT WANT TO NOT ONLY DESTROY ISRAEL, OUR ALLY, BUT US AS WELL?!?!? >:-(

"help the Palestinian Authority pay down its debt"...

A lawsuit has 22 Israeli companies filing for compensation of $4.4 million in unpaid Palestinian bills. The firms charge the Palestinians are refusing to pay their bills for political reasons, and are demanding that the Israeli government make good from some $400 million in tax funds it owes the Palestinian Authority.

The money comes from income taxes and Social Security payments for some 100,000 Palestinians who worked in Israel before the fighting began, along with custom duties and sales taxes on gas and cigarettes.

The Palestinian Authority owes the Israel Electric Company and the Bezeq telephone company millions of dollars.

Israel froze the tax transfers shortly after the intifada began, arguing that the Palestinian Authority would use the money to pay the salaries of its security services, which have aided and even led attacks on Israel.

The Palestinians, too, have their share of economic grievances, particularly over the frozen tax money. Before September 2000, Israel used to transfer the payments to the Palestinian Treasury each month. The amount -- more than $50 million a month, on average -- was enough to meet the entire Palestinian government payroll, from doctors and schoolteachers to bureaucrats and policemen.

[this was back 7 years ago..but old and I assume unpaid debt nevertheless]

Tell me they are paying back debt to Israel.

This is nuts. We borrow money from the Chicoms so we can give it to the Palestinians, who hate us, so they can pay down THEIR debt. This is so stupid only an intellectual could think this makes sense.

I hope this foreign aid will trickle down to nothing. I am sick of our tax money going to these rulers. If you think it helps the poor or needy in a country you need to rethink.

It will trickle down into a dumptruck full of drop phones for use in IED making, the ballance will go towards RPGs and new CHicom AK-47s.

The Swiss banks are always happy after each US infusion of money into Palestine.
