The main social Conservative issue should be stopping illegal and less legal immigration. As far as the rest you can't do anything if you don't have control of the courts and to do that we have to promote economic and fiscal conservatism,individualism and libertarianism. That is the best way to get control of the courts. The abortion issue should not be deserted but should be deemphasized.

I agree. Our sovereignty and national security depend on it and without it, all other issues are moot. However, preventing amnesty is a social issue that someone like Tea Party organizer/supporter Dick Armey (FreedomWorks) won’t go for, as they are pro-path to citizenship amnesty.

I think most of us have recognized that when it came down to Americans joined under the umbrella of the tea party... vs... specific social issues, many of our friends would become our opposition.

I have to agree. The emphasis this first go 'round must be to improve the economy, create real jobs in the private sector, rein in out of control government growth and spending and to SECURE OUR BORDERS! Any sort of tangible progress on this agenda will seal GOP dominance in the next election. Then we can really address the damages done to the Republic by OBOZO and his rat bretheren. Subsequently, we can address the leftist activist judiciary and start rolling back some of the laws that are strangling our economy and individual liberties. We might even be able to deliver a nice boot to the UN patookus.

Seeing as how taxpayers are funding abortion, we could cut the budget right there by removing such funding.
