Flippin’ embarrassing? You betcha!
Boston Herald ^ | 11/15/10 | Jennifer C. Braceras

Sarah Palin has officially “jumped the shark.”

Last night’s premier of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” will be remembered as the moment the once-promising, conservative darling crossed over into the absurd.

Part Alaska tourism promo, part window into the family Palin, TLC’s eight-part series features clips of the former governor at home in gym shorts and shots of the family enjoying the great outdoors while she calls out folksy comments like, “this is flippin’ fun!”

If that’s not enough, Palin takes Kate Gosselin (of “Jon & Kate Plus 8” fame) camping in the Alaska wilderness - the two women reportedly didn’t get along (Kate, it seems, is a bit of an indoor cat).

Conduct unbecoming a former governor and vice presidential

SARAH PALIN CALLS STAY-AT-HOME MOMS NEANDERTHALS

(Friday Church News Notes, November 12, 2010, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) -

In a joint appearance on Fox News with Geraldine Ferarro on Election Night 2010, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin called those who believe mothers should stay at home with their children “Neanderthals.” She said: “There are still the Neanderthals out there, who pick on the petty little superficial meaningless things like looks, like whether you can or can’t work outside of the home if you have small children. All those type of things where I would so hope that at some point, uh, those Neanderthals, will evolve into something a bit more, um, with it, a bit more modern, and a bit more understanding that, yeah, woman can accomplish much…”

Ferarro and Palin were the first women to run as US Vice Presidential running mates (Ferraro for Walter Mondale in 1984 and Palin for John McCain in 2008), and the Fox News discussion focused on how women have broken through many former barriers. What was NOT discussed was the Bible’s teaching on the woman’s role in this present world.

What liberals love to hate!....normal Americans who love their country.>

And they prove it every day with articles like this. They really do not know what a real American is, and they never will.

Further note before you all attack me personally ad hominem,

It has nothing to do with the Palin family,
it has to do with the decorum protocols of the private sphere of publicly elected.
While we are certainly not French, say comparing Clinton’s and Chirac’s infidelities and the way the national medias reported such in each country, we are not going to accept a Presidential contender who is giving over this much information on the private sphere of the household to the glare of the spotlights.

Take Carter for instance, he was a dumbass, but even he knew enough to keep his daughter out of the limelight mostly.

You’ve got it. Here she is: http://www.umass.edu/sbs/alumni/profiles/braceras.htm

Seems she started out on lowly Palin’s level, a communications major at a state university. Somehow she moved up in the world and ended up at Harvard Law, however. Oh, wait—her dad was a Clinton appointed judge? nah, that couldn’t have anything to do with it.

The real story is that even supposed conservatives in MA, if they are of at least upper-middle class standing, absorb the worst of the MA’s petty elitism. They have to work harder to separate themselves from those crass, unwashed, Middle American conservatives in the rest of the country—and so become more snide and offensive than even the moonbats.

Anybody know the ratings?

I've been watching 'TV by the Numbers'...nothing yet. Cable numbers seem to take longer...

OMG, Sarah wore a pair of shorts in her own home. What a slut. She only did it because her burqa was in her other closet. Only another woman would make object to Sarah's shorts. That would be a woman who doesn't look that good in shorts. Or that they don't make those shorts that BIG.

I watched on my big screen HD TV and the scenery was majestic. Sarah has a beautiful family, who can complain about that? I can't wait to see the rest of the shows.

The liberals will just keep on trying to destroy her. Good luck with that.

Some interesting background on the article's author Jennifer Braceras from a CNSNews article in July, 2008 with perspective from Debbie Schlussel. If Braceras (and mentor Young) replaced Jeff Jacoby (a great conservative voice) at the Herald under suspicious grounds, it sounds 'scab'-like. Would a real conservative allow themselves to be 'used' like this?

Braceras' use of 'former Palinista' title reminds me of the 'seminar callers' to Rush that claim to be former Republicans. Not believable.

Palin is doing more for Alaska than any politician could dream of doing for their State.

I wouldn't be surprised if tourism in Alaska is going through the roof.

And, as the public warms to Alaska, Palin will continue to educate them about the oil reserves.

The result of all this will be drilling in ANWR and a healthy treatment of the environment all over the USA. Wait and see.

My take was that she must have already decided against any further political life at this point.

She can always do commentary, give speeches, etc.

Actually, that looks like a pretty sweet life.

lol

I am a Palin supporter, but I am not a blind follower.

In my opinion this particular thing did not help her if her objective is to become president. If she doesn’t ever want to be president.... then the show was fine and slightly entertaining.

“My take was that she must have already decided against any further political life at this point.”

I see no other conclusion that can be drawn from this television production.

Purely as contrast, do a thought experiment and try to picture our dear leader engaged in any of these activities.

1) Obama fishing without a guide, including:
a) baiting a hook with a live worm
b) baiting a hook with live baitfish
c) casting a spinning real (not a kiddy push button thing)
d) reeling in AND landing a fish over 15 pounds on light-medium gear.

2) Obama camping without secret service assistance (security yes, assistance no), including:
a) putting up a tent
b) coming back from the woods with a roll of TP in his hands
c) starting a campfire without a firestarter log

3) Obama firing a weapon. It needs to be at least a 9mm handgun. Long guns and shotguns are fine, but no kiddie pop guns.

Memo to Obama. Playing basketball with sycophants and secret service agents does not come off as particularly manly. Nor does playing golf twice a week.

Its not the person, its the principles.

Palin, Bacchman, deMint, I don't CARE who delivers/executes the message. I refuse to invest in a political celebrity.
