We are exceptional then, but not because we are so special, so much better than people of other nations. Rather it is because God graced us with founding fathers who were brilliant at understanding human nature and who had spent considerable time studying what constitutes good governance and they codified those thoughts in a gorgeous federal republic guided by a written constitution. Founders who, perhaps alone in history ceded their power to the people in the belief that self governance by free men beat any other system known to man,
It is our obligation in every generation to preserve and protect what the Creator and His agents, the authors of the Constitution, devised for us. We've not been paying as much attention to our duties as we ought to, but we're waking up and Obama will learn, if he hasn't yet, that this is not Africa or Europe or South America with some Johnny come lately illusory version of democracy in which all power comes from the top and elections and branches of government are meaningless checks on overweening central power.

True, and I think as our Country continues to be infiltrated by foreighners ...this resembles the Biblical accounts of what happens to nations who turn their back on God, who were infiltrated by their enemies as well....problem is our administrations open the doors and invite them in, not recognizing or caring to recognize who the enemy is. Wolfs flock here now in packs, and Obama actually escorts them here!

The big question is whether Obama has innoculated us against socialism or infected us with it. If his presidency serves as a vaccine then we can be grateful for it. Otherwise we’re in trouble.

We kicked God out of the public square, continue to slaughter the unborn and are embracing homosexuality as normal, healthy and honorable. How can God bless us as a nation?

I think it all depends on how many people “wake up” and whether they will stay vigilant and keep on resisting. It’s somewhat disheartening to work hard to get what we suppose are elected conservatives to turn the tide, only to find that the ruling class is sabotaging the effort.
The majority of leftists are in secure jobs, i.e. government or university or non-profits and are thus able to devote their working hours and their union money to overwhelmin the Constitution.
That's why I'm glad Obama came along and woke us all up again to the exceptionally brilliant American way and made us fight to preserve it from this silly, vain incompetent.
Obama has definitely woken a lot of people up. The question is whether that's enough to overcome the damage he's done.
Looking at how they've set the board and looking ahead, I see vast potential for some really hard times.
If the past has any clues worthy of our public school enhanced self esteem, soon we will find out how many frogs like their water boiling.
