Huffington: Public Anger Is Beyond Left or Right
CBS News ^ | 11/28/10 | Jimmy So

Posted on 11/28/2010 12:43:14 PM PST by Nachum

Author and Huffington Post co-founder Ariana Huffington said that the tremendous anger in the United States today is not a product of just the right or the left, and that neither political party stands to benefit from it. Huffington, speaking in a panel of authors and journalists on CBS' "Face the Nation" Sunday, said people are sensing doom, and that this frustration can threaten American stability. "It's beyond left and right anger. No party can claim that it really is going to ultimately benefit them because it's very unpredictable and potentially very dangerous for our political stability,"

That's only because YOU are on the wrong side of it Ariana. You did everything in your power to gin up the left in the last election. Now you're getting what you deserve.

I think she’s only half right. Neither party stands to gain from it, because both parties are too far to the left. But it’s definitely about left and right.

‘It’s dangerous’ — why does that make me think her/ the lefties’ next ploy will be — ‘it’s dangerous, so let’s close it down, lock them up, shut down the websites, arrest the dissenters.’

I thot dissent was patriotic?

Ariana is FOS! The left is sensing doom. The GOP is on probation.

Back on Nov 2 voters clearly stated they were angry with Obama and the Dems. No doubt about it.

People are angry because our political class, including state and local office holders, have been failing us. Loading us up on entitlements that only burden us further to the point of fiscal disaster. Just look to Europe, that is our future if we continue down this path.

The Tea Party has clearly stated that you are either part of the problem or part of the solution. Time to pull up the big boy pants and be part of the solution. All others can retire or be retired by solution oriented candidates.

Ariana and her incessant wishful thinking again.

Honestly, I think there is something to this.

Look, I think the Left is 100% wrong about everything.
I think Sarah Palin (and Jim Demint) are exciting politicians who "get it" more than anyone else has in the past 20 years.
On the Left/Right spectrum, I know who's smart and who is stupid.

But the big issue is really the global economy. It stinks. In Europe, in North America, the old model doesn't work anymore. On the one hand, the global economy might have raised up 6 billion people so that they all lived in a nice suburb, had a big plasma screen TV and enjoyed vacations in Florida. But that is simply impossible. No, what the global economy is REALLY doing is leveling the field so that 6 billion people will live like Chinese peasants.

We wish that we could stop this, but I haven't heard anyone come up with a serious idea on how the US can participate in the global economy, compete against China and India and still provide high American wages and good benefits. I don't think it can be done.

I don't think either party has a real solution to this.

We can’t blame it solely on the Rats. Admit it, Both Bushes and the Republican Party have advanced socialism far more than conservatism.

So, the anger expressed vocally, and finally by a call to arms by the patriots in the Revolutionary War is not American, right Arianna?

These clowns on the left are hapless.

our political stability

If you read carefully, they really say what they mean. The whole phrase depends on the meaning of "our". Of course the anger of the people threatens the political stability of the left!

The solution is simple:

Reduce income and corporate income taxes.

Create internal free trade zones internally inside the US just like India and China.

Raise tariffs on foreign goods. This was Republican economic and revenue policy for 75 years before the adoption of the income tax.

Deport all the illegals and put a moratorium on immigration until we are at full employment again.

Reduce all payroll taxes for the next 5 years.

Build 20 nuclear power plants.

The problem is that people don’t want to live within their means and work for more if they want more. Living the luxe lifestyle takes a tremendous amount of sacrifice and few want to make it. Women in some areas want it, but don’t want ot work for it, preferring to marry wealthy. Men don’t want to work for it, they prefer to max out the credit card. Those that do want to work for it and save for it, they end up getting taxed and hounded for more. This is all about people wanting to find a safe haven, not wanting to build their own, looking down on people who do get their hands dirty.

Lots of people want it, they don’t want to get their hands dirty getting it. A lot of college students go to school and use their worthless degrees as a status symbol, not a means to better themselves. Meanwhile, for all that it’s ranted about, foreign students come to get viable degrees and proudly get their hands dirty. The ‘old model,’ has gone from creating jobs, to creating income, not through production, but through parasitism.

Precisely. And we aren't backing down. This is what has the dems and the RINO's rattled.

Here’s my list:

1) Eliminate the Liberal Arts programs
2) Restrict student loans to viable degree programs
3) Require students who want art degrees to pay for it themselves
4) Require that in order to graduate from university, you have to have a certified skill
5) Firing squad for racial extortionists

The best solutions are the politically incorrect ones.

The anger stems primarily from the left and the so-called “moderates” who want to spend spend spend and get into people’s faces with childish demand after demand.

It’s no secret, Arianna, that wherever your type is in charge, it’s an absolute disaster. Cities, schools, unions, California, DC, you name it. Whatever you touch turns to crap and then you run home crybabying like it’s someone else’s fault.

Grow up.
