The Senate can earmare away but if the new House hold to their commitment...there will be no earmarks. Boehner has got the ball now.

Did we expect anything less? But, the HOUSE can defund all the earmarks (if they don’t all turn into Rino’s).

...but but but it only represents .5 % of total spending.
Geez, how much could that be? What's all the fuss? ...just a drop in the bucket, insignificant.
To: So Cal Rocket
Hopefully the incoming House will just strike all the earmarks out of the bill. But I’m not holding my breath, that’s for sure.

What a surprise ...
Several thing politicians cannot ever be expected to pass:
Term Limits.
A retirement plan that is the same as citizens.
Health care benefits that are the same as citizens.
Living by the same rules and laws that citizens live under.
Not larding up bills with vote buying earmarks.

As Rand Paul explained, the real evil of earmarks is not so much the relatively small amount that they add to the federal budget deficit, but the fact that earmarks are the currency that Senators and Congresspersons use to buy each others votes with.

I wouldn’t worry about it. When the GOP-led House adopts an earmark ban next year, the Senate will have to go along. And other changes are on the way.

Why do the R senators allow anything they know they will lose to go to the floor for a vote??? Doesn’t it take 60 votes for cloture? We have 42, with Kirk, don’t we?

Hutchinson- RINO MEAT. Time is NOW to take out the garbage in 2012. We did it to bluedog CHET EDWARDS now it's time to get rid of Kay.
RINO HUNT- 2012. Let's find a conservative and get rid of this baggage. Then finally the RINO wing of the Texas GOP will figure it out.
