Yes, they were below 1000 feet, but that’s a stupid rule anyhow.

I’ve been witness to military aircraft flying over my head so low I could see the squadron decal on the pilot’s helmet. Doesn’t bother me, but rules are rules and I believe the rule is 1000 feet over civilians.
