We object strenuously to having to bring in Rule to testify, said Emanuels attorney Mike Kasper. She is the mother of three young children and its no secret they attend school in Washington, D.C.
Objector Denise Gilbert stood up and asked, Has Mr. Emanuels wife ever heard of a baby-sitter or a nanny?
Taping Connected to Chicago, to be broadcast at 2 p.m. Sunday on WLS-AM (890), Emanuel called summoning his wife dirty pool.
Ill answer the questions. Im the one running for mayor. My wife has a responsibility, obviously, because we want the kids to finish school [in Washington D.C.] So, shes taking care of them. If you have any questions, ask me, he said.

Only in America....only in America...
Golly! If he even has to go through this rigamarole, is it just possible that he does NOT have the Chicago establishment in his hip pocket on this one? I get the distinct impression that Rahmbo has never taken a job or office that wasn’t carefully pre-arranged for him, that includes his Congressional stint.
Is this your opinion? Do you have a source and a link?
I would have thought that every attorney in the world learned from Demi Moore that 'strenuously' objecting leaves one looking desperate and amateurish.
Are you insinuating that perhaps our own POTUS is a crook and as authentic as a 3 dollar bill?
Perhaps Obama sent him to Chicago to lose just to "get him out of the way"?
that line came from a few good men movie!!!!
As for their curious marriage, it is just an opinion.
It seems odd that Rahm has been running around Chicago since September proclaiming his eligibility to become mayor while his wife and children have been strangely absent.
Over the Thanksgiving, according to newspaper accounts, Emanuel flew to Los Angeles and spent the holiday with his brother, Ari, the Hollywood agent. Not a word was printed about where the wife and children spent the weekend.
Chicago has numerous schools, public and private, where his children could be educated. Several of his opponents have been asking questions about Emanuel’s hesitancy to discuss whether or not he would support enrolling his children in the Chicago Public Schools.
In Chicago, it has been traditional that the mayor’s spouse performs quite a few charitable and civic functions much like the First Lady. Amy Rule’s continuous absence during the campaing seems peculiar.
Some go as far as to say Rahm simply used the mayoral race as an excuse to bail out early. It’s a cinch this was a last-minute decision with no advance planning.

What is more shocking is to learn twinkle toes is married.
There are several stories posted online at the Chicago newspapers on the public school flap, but those are quite a few days old. Mayoral candidate Gery Chico spent the most time on the issue. Emanuel was somewhat evasive on where his children would attend school, if they moved back to Chicago.
I do not know if these were linked to Free Republic during the past week or not.
“Emanuel’s Wife May Have to Fly to Chicago to Testify in Residency Battle...”
Such an inconvenience for her. Can’t they just take Emanuel’s word for everything????
"She is the mother of three young children and it's no secret they attend school in Washington, D.C." Objector Denise Gilbert stood up and asked, "Has Mr. Emanuel's wife ever heard of a baby-sitter or a nanny?"
Hows does one fake something every american with a nose for news knows?
Rahm has been in washington for well over a year....
This is akin to one arguing that it’s dark in the public square at high noon ,and someone in the crod actually taking one seriously....
Resident of chicago my ass...where do his kids go to school again?
Emanuel has a wife? And, kids? For real?
FTA - “Emanuel called summoning his wife dirty pool.” Pot calls kettle black. Let’s see He has lived in D.C. for the past several years, his wife lives in D.C. area and his kids are in D.C. schools. Yep! He’s definitely a Chicago resident. What a scumbag!
Absolutely true.
For someone who claims to be so close to Mayor Richard M. Daley as to be the designated successor or preferred choice, Emanuel seemed to be blindsided by the incumbent’s announcement that he was not planning to seek reelection.
If Rahm Emanuel had moved back to Chicago in February of 2010 or established a legal residence within the city at that time, there would be no legal challenge to his eligibility.
