According to something called the “Islamic Center” in Malmö, there are around 45,000 people “with a muslim background” there. That’s around 7% of the population. However, there are parts of Malmö, like Rosengård, where 86% have a foreign background (both parents from another country), many of which are muslims.
I wonder when that survey was taken?
It looked that high to me 8 years ago.
OK, 45,000 being 7% sounded real inaccurate to me so I checked the latest city census-—258,000 in ‘05. So, assuming the “Islamic Center” is being truthful, that represents 17%.
My contacts insist that it is much higher and mention a serious case of “white flight” in recent years.
The only way to settle the matter is to take a trip, I suppose, and that is overdue. But NOT in winter.
