I want the DOJ to sue the schools because my local school has called Christmas=winter solstice nor would they allow my kids to wear any type of clothing/earrings/necklace with a Christian symbol on it.

As well as the school would not let my kids off for a month to go on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land and The Vatican.

I am sure Holder will frontier this case for me as he does for the Muslim religion.

Separation of church and state means what, again?

The government will not SPONSOR a religion. The intention of that clause was to prevent the government from establishing a religion or cooperating with a particular religion as was going on with the Church of England during the founding of the US. If a government and a church join forces, bad things happen (look up the Spanish Inquisition).

My religion [Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster- May you be touched by his noodly appendage] says I must make a yearly 2-month pilgrimage to Jamaica, or Cancun

Can I sue for time off for that?

Every time some diaper-head sues for discrimination for some muzzie idiocy we need to swamp them with 10 lawsuits for the same thing from a Christian and Jewish and Hindu and Buddist viewpoint

Preferably in the same venue, in front of the same judge

Holder would be perfectly happy to disenfranchise all non-submissive white males, Christians, Jews, conservatives and patriots. He would impower Traitors, Muslims, USA enemies, Black Panthers, NAGS and anyone who generally feels they're entitled to something for nothing!

Yes, I've had just about enough of it!

Muslims are required to make the pilgrimage to Mecca once in a lifetime if possible. I believe this is a young teacher, and it is beyond ridiculous that the ‘Justice’ Department, or any government entity, should involve itself in the decision of whether or not this teacher is given time off to take this once in a lifetime pilgrimage this particular year.

The Obama administration continues to demonstrate who and what they are.

This pilgrimage is necessary...is required? How many Muslims actually do this?

This DOJ is getting more and more ridiculous and definitely supports a preference for a specific religion.

Another thing, Pamela Geller has proof that our government is also soliciting bids to supply Muslim items:

Seems like the government is unconstitutionally promoting slamism.

The pilgrimage to Mecca thing is a once in a lifetime requirement. This teacher is not violating his religion by waiting until it doesn't interrupt his work. The lawsuit is bogus.

In effect, this woman will probably have taught infidels for less than 6 months and then be able to retire a multi-millionairess.

YOU ALL BETTER GET BACK TO WORK. SOMEBODY HAS TO PAY FOR THIS SHIITE.

The pilgrimmage is a requirement for those Muslims who are capable of going. If you are very poor, you do not have to. If you are very disabled, you do not have to.

If this teacher wants to quit their job and fly to Mecca, great. If they cannot afford to take that action, then they should keep showing up for work and find comfort in the idea that they are not absolutely required to go to Mecca.

I forgot to opine on the article, and yes, I agree. This sounds like the legitimization of Islam.

Two words: summer vacation

I thought teachers only work 180 days out of the year? That 3 month break over the summer should give Raghead plenty of time to visit Mecca.

WOnder how my job would like if I sued for time off to go to the Vatican? Hell, they don’t even give me off on Easter.

“This pilgrimage is necessary...is required? How many Muslims actually do this?”

It is required. The Hajj (pilgrimage) is one of the five pillars of the islamic faith and anyone who can afford to do it is expected to do it. To prevent overcrowding and deaths from stampedes (which typically happen anyway) the Saudis limit the Hajj to some two to three million per year.

While I am not a fan of islam, the DOJ is right on this one. Allowing the teacher to take *unpaid* time off to complete a religious obligation is a reasonable accomadation - just the same as it would be to allow a Catholic teacher to take unpaid time off to visit the Holy Land and to perform the stations of the Cross.

I know that’s not a popular thing to say on here, but I’m just pointing out the fact that we live in a country where legal precedent is law. If muslims can be stopped from their religious observances then so can we.

And the Hajj this year was from November 14 to November 18. It was NOT something that could wait for summer vacation. If we assert that it has to wait for summer vacation then we set the precedent that Easter, Christmas, Yom Kippur, Hannukah, and etc. have to wait for summer vacation.

Note: I am just being fair about this, okay?
