Is This Our America Anymore?

Buried in the Oct. 30 Washington Post was a bland headline: "Report Points to Faster Recovery in Jobs for Immigrants."

The story, however, contained social dynamite that explains the rage of Americans who are smeared as nativists and xenophobes for demanding a timeout on immigration.

In the April-May-June quarter, foreign-born workers in the U.S. gained 656,000 jobs. And native-born Americans lost 1.2 million.

From July 1, 2009, to June 30, 2010, foreign-born Hispanics gained 98,000 construction jobs. Native-born Hispanics lost 133,000. Black and white U.S. construction workers lost 511,000 jobs.

According to the Center for Immigration Studies, from Jan. 1, 2000, to Jan. 1, 2010, 13.1 million immigrants, legal and illegal, entered the United States, a decade in which America lost 1 million jobs.

From 2008 and 2009, the figures are startling. In 24 months, 2.4 million immigrants, legal and illegal, arrived, as U.S. citizens were losing 8.6 million jobs.

Query: Why are we importing a million-plus workers a year when 17 million Americans can't find work? Whose country is this?

Why do we not declare a moratorium on all immigration, until our unemployment rate falls to 6 or 5 percent? Charity begins at home. Ought we not take care of our own jobless first before we invite in strangers to take their jobs?

According to the Pew Hispanic Center, each year between 300,000 and 400,000 "anchor babies" are born to illegal aliens. These newborns are entitled to citizenship, free health care and education, welfare and food stamps

Their parents — almost all are poor or working class — rarely pay any state or federal income tax.

How long can we keep granting citizenship and full social welfare benefits to the children of people who break our laws and break into our country or overstay their visas? How long can we keep bringing in workers to take jobs when our unemployment rate hovers around 10 percent?

Again, according to the Pew Center, the number of anchor babies here now is about 4 million. Add to that 3 million to 4 million born each decade, and it will not be long before Colorado, Nevada, Arizona and Texas resemble California, which is on the brink of default.

If no action is taken, the Republican Party will soon be unable, even in wave elections, to win the presidency, as it won nothing and indeed lost state legislative seats in California in 2010.

The border will disappear, and America will be a geographical expression, not a country anymore.

Legal scholar William Quirk describes a new phenomenon in the invasion of America: "maternity tourism." Pregnant Asian women pay $15,000 to agents to ensure they are in the United States when their child is born so that they can return home secure in the knowledge he or she will be a U.S. citizen with the right to a U.S.-taxpayer subsidized education in college.

Though the nation has awakened to the threat to social cohesion and national solvency, Harry Reid is still attempting to ram through a lame-duck Senate an amnesty for illegal aliens up to age 30 who claim they were brought here before they were 16, have a high school diploma or GED and state that they intend to go to college within six years.

An estimated 2.1 million illegal aliens would be amnestied, put on a path to citizenship, and be eligible for student loans and more.

According to Alabama's Jeff Sessions, ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee:

"Aliens granted amnesty by the DREAM Act will have the legal right to petition for entry of their family members, including their adult brothers and sisters and the parents who illegally brought or sent them to the United States, once they become naturalized U.S. citizens. In less than a decade, this reality could easily double or triple the 2.1 million green cards that will be immediately distributed as a result of the DREAM Act."

Lawbreaking would be rewarded. Chain migration would continue. A permanent powerful magnet would be provided to all foreigners to sneak into the United States and be sure to bring the kids.

As Rep. Dana Rohrabacher argues, one effect of the DREAM Act will be to move illegals applying to college ahead of many Americans, as 80 percent of illegals are Hispanics and eligible for affirmative action.

U.S. soldiers coming home from Afghanistan will "sit in back," as Obama puts it, when competing against amnestied illegals.

as may you (have the last word), I do believe America is witnessing the old but true...A time to not be apart but rather be together and pray for the best outcome...for that outcome is coming, whether we desire it or not. As I typed earlier near bottom of first page. I do not have all the answers....do you?

A brilliant essay by somebody who gets it.

I agree, if America and Americans do not come together for a solution based on God’s Will, God will take action anyway. Most everything and all which we can do, at this point, is vote and pray. If this turns out to not be enough, I will say it was God’s will, whatever occurs.

Yes that would be about when it happened. I walked that prop around the neighborhood for signature to get it on the ballot.

I guess my only message is, keep voting. If you look at the stats it is very close, and if all of us keep going to the polls in maximum numbers we will prevail.

The melting pot is a myth. It is insane to believe that the immigrants, illegal or otherwise are just going to give up the conditioning they received in their homeland.

Of course it is. Even the first wave Germans were to the left of the founding stock Scottish Calvinists. And each proceeding wave to the left of that.

What I don’t get is why black Americans are “OK” with third world illegals taking jobs that they could have.

That bloc was bribed enough to be as pacified as can reasonably be expected long ago.

Sorry, I still don't get why it is tolerated.

Political correctness is like a mental virus. It's strangely seductive, makes it very easy for even the most dipshitted cretin to feel smugly self-righteous, and once you've succumbed to it you're probably never coming back.

Now democrats will ram through the Dream act which gives illegals Amnesty, free college, and chain migration.

This Dream act will act as a magnet for tens of millions more illegals from the 3rd world.

So we Americans have to pay for the room and board and tuition of illegal invaders to our United States that we built with our hard work. The democrats and the government are the enemy of the American people. And democrats are all socialists/marxists.

This Dream act must be stopped. And then all illegals must be deported .If this is not done then the U.S. is done and there will never be another conservative elected ever in the U.S.

I don’t think Reid has the votes at this point. Fingers crossed he doesn’t find them.

I hope you are right but the battle is set for Saturday night and I don’t think the outcome is a certainty. However, I know I’ll probably get attacked for saying this but God Bless Republican Scott Brown and Republicans if they do manage to stop the Dream act on Saturday night. The Republicans will be there to meet the enemy on Saturday for the final battle , then when everyone else including Lady Rush,Drudge, the GOP bashers here, everyone else is partying it up or concentrating on other things.

Simple. RACE. That's the ugly truth. Most illegals are Latino, and they have organizations like La Raza pushing for them and accusing all who don't want to flood the country with tens of millions of Latinos as "racist." Americans are terrified of being called racist, so they hear that word and they shut up. That is really what it boils down to. Does anyone honestly think this country would put up with tens of millions of whites flooding in, taking jobs, stealing identities, spreading disease, imposing their own language and culture, driving drunk, overcrowding the schools, shutting down emergency rooms, forming gangs, etc., etc.? Please. It would NEVER have been allowed to get this bad.

Well, all I know is that my white 19 year old son cannot find a job in Northern virginia to save his life. At every single fast food counter, every restaurant, every grocery, everwhere we got there are latino looking kids and kids of every ethnicity it seems EXCEPT white his age working at these jobs. Somehow my son applies and applies, yet never gets called. Somehow these individuals DO get the jobs ... and I know damn well who and what their legal status is.

It is pitiful already. My son is 19 with very little money to spend, is unable to develop a work history or to save money for college — his future is being STOLEN from him and it makes me LIVID!!!!!

I hear the same thing from other people who have white sons in their teens or 20s. These boys pound the pavement, send out resumes, take classes, fill out applications, do everything but cartwheels and backflips to get a job, and they still can’t get hired.

I’ve also noticed something else...most of the beggars I see on the streets these days are white males.
