Bingo. Gay Marriage and repealing DADT officially normalizes homosexuality. As such, gay military personnel now will be able to show gay affection openly, including at formal dances and other events. Whether or not they will actually do it remains to be seen but any objection to it will be seen as discrimination or even a hate crime.

What a mess this is going to be, and what incredible idiots in congress for forcing this. They have indeed unleashed a pandora’s box.

I can’t imagine this happening at the Marine Corps Ball. At one we attended a tipsy grunt was dancing a bit wildly and was dressed down by a superior for it. They keep them in line. Or did, anyway. This could be a real disaster.

Changing the law won't make it "normal", any more than passing a law that says water can run uphill will make it so.

OTOH, it will bring them out of the woodwork, and in the long run, that might be a good thing. There is a backlash coming.

What we will have is a de facto re-segregation of the military along sexual lines, especially when off duty. Military unit effectiveness will disappear.
