If it was wrong to attack Santorum over his children's residency, it is wrong to attack Emanuel.

R or D after ones name does not or should not determine what is right or wrong.

We now have irrefutable proof that the law means nothing in Alaska and Chicago. Alaska surprises me, Chicago doesn’t.

I am hoping for a major food fight within the Donkey machine in Chicago. The more they fight with one another, the less they'll be effective in raping the rest of IL to pay for Chicago and Cook County's corruption.

I personally wish the Chicago pols would start settling things like Capone and Moran did in the 1920’s. The higher the Donkey body count, the better for everyone in IL. A total pox on all the corrupt alfa-sierra-sierra-holes in the “Armpit by the Lake.”

If you don’t volunteer, you’re not a “public servant.” You’re a paid employee, just like I am, and you’re due only the respect one working citizen gives another. The only job in America that constitutes “public service” in my book is being in the military.

If Emanuel left Chicago to be an investment banker, the conversation would be over. So why should we pretend he was a resident of Chicago just because he got a fat paycheck and power that will feather his nest for years to come as Obama’s head stooge? “Public servant,” my ascot.

If this disqualifies Emanuel from running by virtue of his not being able to commute between Chicago and Washington DC, then something is wrong.

Even President H.W. Bush used a hotel room in Texas as his other address. It would have taken very little for Emmanuel to maintain legal status. While you may well be right that an exception should be carved out for people moving to DC for an appointed high office, in a nation of laws that should be addressed through legislation, and should not take effect until the next election.

Actually, it doesn't punish Rahm ~ rather, it punishes all the other people in Chicago who would be equally qualified to be Obama's chief of staff ~ and that's gotta' number in the millions (considering who we are dealing with).

Chicago's rule violates the Equal Protection clause considering employment with the federal government. Because of that it is clearly UNCONSTITUTIONAL!

The law is very well written. Rahm does not belong on the ballot. It is wrong that they are allowing him to stay on.

I don't think Santorum leased his house to anyone - that makes a big difference.

Hard to believe that little stubby Rahm can hang in there.... The candidate pool in the Windy City must really be shallow.

Why does it seem that it’s always the little man who craves so much power? I’m 6’6” and the only people in my life who have ever fought/bothered/confronted me have been little short boys. Must be some short syndrome.

They’ve been calling it “the Napoleon Complex” for a century and a half now.

There’s a scene in Erich Maria Remarque’s “All Quiet on the Western Front” (the book) where our heroes are drawn up in formation as Kaiser Wilhelm drops by to review them and one remarks on how short he is up close and the old geezer of the unit says that most of the trouble in history has been caused by short men.

Boy Rahm got into this mess because he was cheap. He wanted rental income from the empty house. As you said, he could have easily afforded to maintain a place of residence in Chicago.

Chicago’s mayoral race is now conducted on a “nonpartisan” basis, so there are no primary elections any longer. The voting takes place on February 22, 2011. If no mayoral candidate obtains a majority of the vote, there will be a run-off election between the two top candidates in April.

You're right... maybe the over six footers should form a minority group to defend themselves from the little, irritable pricks....

Look at the little ones in Congress.... Boehner, Hoyer, Reid, McLame...

Yep you are right. Emanuel should have left his wife and kids in Chicago. I am sure that is what the maoriy of us would have done. Real sure? Well kinda sure.
