CALEXICO, Calif. (AP) -- A government agency on the front lines of the immigration debate has begun installing lifesaving buoys in a fast-moving canal along the U.S.-Mexico border where migrants drown each year as they sneak into the country illegally.
The debate over the lifelines has long presented authorities with a moral dilemma: Is it acceptable to do nothing when so many immigrants are dying in the water?

There is no moral delimma. Put out some “no-swimming” signs.
We should not lay out a highway exclusively for criminals and invaders.
NO of course not - how about doing somthing to discourage them from trying to illegally immigrate in the first place?
Only a worthless, flabby-arsed, brain-stem of a bureaucrat would think the appropriate solution is to install bouys, and so typical of our 'betters' in the government.
And how many of those saved by the buoys will later kill Americans?
They’d be better off stringing floating mines instead.

I’m kinda surpried TOTUS hasn’t posted lifeguards and called it “stimulus jobs”.
Sharks with friggen laser beams on their heads would be more useful.
My suggestion (as recorded here for the last several years) is to establish Command and Fire Zones along the entire border; announce a 24 hour no-cross period warning; and then begin killing every illegal crossing into America. Should Mexico declare war on the United States of America,...liquefy them.
But if TOTUS did that, that would mean that some people actually are getting jobs.
And TOTUS is all about appearances and not actual tangible anything.
He MEANS to crete jobs, so in their mind that means it is okay to NOT create jobs.

This government makes me sick. When are they going to start looking out for the interests of Americans? I can’t even breath the wrong way without the government jumping all over me but the same government lets millions of illegals break all kinds of laws.
No, it is NOT acceptable; coerce Mexico to put Federales or other guards along their side, to effectively keep the illegals from getting in the canal in the first place.
You can't cure stupid.
Get rid of the bouys and extend the canal about 900 miles....
So why don’t we just send buses to the Mexican border towns and pick them up and bring them over? We could get them all signed up with welfare and free medical care and give them their Democrat party cards and send them where they are most needed to replace American employees all right then.
