Posited exactly the same thing that alQueda did on 9/11....right up until they wasted their highly trained, already-established-in-country assets by blowing them up.
Made me think entirely too much, after 9/11. With marginally more competence and little effort, that attack could have been orders of magnitude worse.
Scary to think about
I agree with your posts. This seems more likely to be a disgruntled employee or something like that.
I also would echo your point about getting “deep into their bench” of available talent. It’s a point I’ve been making myself... thousands and thousands of their best talent have flooded into Afghanistan and Iraq over the last several years, only to be annihilated by the Marines.
I think that old line about how if you kill one of them that “another will just rise up in their place...” has been exposed as demonstrably untrue. Seems pretty clear that when you kill them they just stay dead... and if they’re replaced they’re replaced by lesser trained, lesser committed, and frankly less intelligent and less cabable jihadis. There’s fewer of them all the time and the ones that are left just aren’t the Varsity squad anymore.
