the Huffington Post points out that there is no provision in the Constitution that allows for a remote swearing-in. Wow, the Huffington Post demanding that Congressmen follow the Constitution! Maybe there's hope yet.
In the interim any votes cast by these Bozos should not be counted until they have been officially sworn in.

Inside the beltway, political establishment. We have to look at deeds, not words, and remember in 2012.

What kind of site is the blaze??

Well, there is precedence for “deeming”. Let’s “deem” them sworn in. Why do Republicans, especially seasoned Congressional legislators give the left this kind of ammunition? Sheeeesh....

He screwed the pouch big time. Stupid dope. And we have so few so called Republicans operating out of Philly and the neighboring counties. It pisses me off. No use writing him a letter. He probably doesn't care.
Meanwhile the new 112 Congress is making headway in abolishing and closing down some of the czars and holding the gun finally to the energy department. None on our side can afford to be out of line in the slightest. Straight shooters, honest and forthright is required from now on. I hope they all do view this web site.

The gaffe is gaining critical traction among liberals who point out that the U.S. Constitution requires members to be sworn in before casting votes. The rats wouldn't know what was in the Constitution if we hadn't read it to them.

This is ridiculous. I hope these two grinning idiots get a full load of S@#t from the leadership.
Fitzpatrick is on thin ice as it is, just knocking off Murphy and retaking a seat that used to be his. People are lukewarm to him, they just hated Murphy way more.

Democrat DeFazio also skipped the oath on Wednesday and went to a public meeting about a veterans’ hospital in his home state. Since he has been in office since 1987, it’s likely he already had a pretty good idea of how the veterans feel about a veterans hospital. Oregon’s senators sent representatives; he preferred to get face-time amongst the voters (he has a good record with veterans, so some sincerity is probably a factor). DeFazio neglected to tell anyone where he would be and wasted other people’s time looking for him for the oath ceremony. Since there has been an apparently political murder just recently in D.C., he might’ve been a little more thoughtful about notifying the appropriate people of his absence.
Since all three rep’s have previously taken the oath, it could be argued that only new members require that ceremony. For now, rules are rules, and they all should have been in attendance.
If Congress wanted to save money, they would all remain in their home states and communicate via satellite. D.C. would go broke, though, so that’s probably not going to ever happen.

Ping.
Republicans Pete Sessions (TX) and Michael Fitzpatrick (PA) missed the swearing in with the rest of Congress. I know PA doesn’t have recall, will there be a challenger at the next primary?

Since they are too busy to be doing what they are supposed to be doing, I would relieve them of their committee assignments until they have more time.

This garbage drives me crazy. Just like when the House or Senate is gaveled in and it takes 5 minutes for these prima donnas to shut up.
Their anguses need to be in their seats with their pie holes shut 10 seconds after that hammer hits.
