The left-leaning big apple laid off another eighteen "newsroom" employees this week. This is part of 100 "newsroom" jobs which the newspaper targeted for cuts in 2009. This is the second straight year that the ailing newspaper has made the decision to layoff 100 newsroom jobs. With a sharp thirty percent fall in ad revenue in the first three quarters of this year, accounting for around $231 million, these jobs cuts have become a necessary evil.
(snip)
Daniel Okrent, former public editor of the NYC, recently revealed huge amounts of liberal bias at the ailing paper: "When I was at the Times - my term there ended four years ago - everybody on the editorial board was a Democrat. I asked Gail Collins, who was then the editorial page editor, "Why don't you have a greater ideological variety and philosophical variety so you can have richer debate on the page?" And she said, "If I had a couple of conservatives on this page, they'd be unhappy all the time. They'd either have to write something that wasn't their view, because we decide our view consensually, or they'd never get to write. So, what's the point?"
bump
That statement is as good a reason as any to shut it down
I would like to see everybody associated with the Democrat “mainstream” newspapers lose their jobs, their homes, and their families. For the damage they have done to this once-great country over the decades, they deserve nothing less.
Every time another lib loses their job, an angel gets it’s wings.
Hope & Change... LOL
LOL, no bias there ;^)
Good grief... how many "newsroom" jobs does it take to reprint DNC talking points?
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
When my husband & I went to the Rammstein concert at MSG last month, we stayed in a hotel less than a block from the Old Gray Whore.

The only bad thing about the NYT laying off employees is that it might just save the company from bankruptcy.
They should retool and make toilet paper. I’m sure they would have a larger customer base.
LLS
Newsweek should offer to buy them for a dollar.
Happy New Year, Libs indeed! Let ‘em blame Algore for inventing the internet
Lovely area isn’t it around that place. The male peep shows and porno shops are especially charming.
Lots of empty desks inside the building.

Keep up the good work. :-)
Nice to know where they went after Giuliani cleaned up Times Square.
Boy. Was that ever the key sentence there. They decide their view consensually...so everyone has to agree before anything is printed.
Just wow.
