WASHINGTON (AFP) The powerful US business lobby warned Tuesday it would not walk in "lock-step" with President Barack Obama despite recent improved ties, but offered qualified backing for key legislative fights ahead.
After two years of spats with the White House, the US Chamber of Commerce said it would support Obama-backed moves to secure trade deals, tax reform, more infrastructure spending and debt reduction.
Just weeks before Obama makes a high profile address to the chamber -- which claims to represent three million businesses -- chief executive Thomas Donohue struck a conciliatory tone, and offered the prospect of help on battles set to mark the second half Obama's term.

The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
More spineless, yellow-bellied worms.... just like the GOP representatives.
(and I mean that in the most loving way.)
It’s a given. Daley=The Godfather
Sounds like the Chamber got an offer they couldn't refuse. I wonder how this will square with their vow to lobby and push for repeal of 0bamaCare.
This is so sick, business shouldn’t need to court the President. It should be exactly the opposite. This is proof that government dominates our economy,,, and not the reverse.
Actually i think the CoC went one better, i think they ordered Obama to take Daley on as Chief of staff, he is one of their operatives. Obama was told, Daley or we take you down, the about face is astounding.
US chamber of commerce is neither in favor of the US or COMMERCE.

“Obama was told, Daley or we take you down, the about face is astounding.”
Unless Daley plans to counsel Obama to accede to Obamacare’s repeal, CoC didn’t get much in return for the concessions it appears prepared to make. It would have been far more impressive had they held Obamacare hostage: accept repeal, or we take you down. Had they succeeded in forcing such a concession, it would have literally meant saving a half trillion dollars in new entitlement spending: I doubt that Daley’s being CoS could have anywhere near comparable impact.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is a bunch of craven whores that would sellout America in a heartbeat.
