I learned something about my country today I would rather not know. It seems that countries like Australia have a better functioning moral compass than we do. I always assumed that when it comes to morality, America is still lagging behind the rest of the advanced (read: immoral) world because of our deep religious roots. With the reputation Americans have abroad, you’d think we were the most backwards puritans alive. But in truth, America is losing its moral fiber. The USA is one of the only places in the world where you can come to make use of sex selection In Vitro Fertilization technology.

On the surface, it doesn’t sound too terrible, right? My whole family is girls. I do mean ALL. I am one of three sisters and between us we have 4 daughters. My mother is one of 5, all girls except one, and each of them had all girls. That’s right. I have 13 cousins…all girls (even 2 adopted ones!) Our poor husbands are the most hen-pecked men in America (and they love it…if they know what’s good for them.) To me, a boy child would be like the Holy Grail. I wouldn’t even know what to do with him. I’ve heard stories, all of which involve getting sprayed in the face with wee. So when I hear that a trip to the IVF doctor could actually give me the mysterious xy combo that’s missing from my life, I admit the idea is appealing. But how far is too far? An Australian couple has answered that question.

After becoming pregnant via IVF with twin boys, the couple aborted them because they just want a girl.

Losing our moral fiber? I'd say we've (as a country) already lost it.

God blessed me with 5 beautiful daughters. Did I want a son? Of course....but God is Great and I now have 2 wonderful sons-in-law and 3 handsome (albeit exhausting!) grandsons. Life is so very good!!
