Georgia's congressional delegation pulls up a seat to State of the Union speech

WASHINGTON -- Republican Sen. Johnny Isakson plans to sit with Democrat Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire.

Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss expects to be next to Sen. Mark Warner, the Democrat from Virginia.

...

Others are not.

“I ... believe very firmly that it is a trap and a ruse that Democrats are proposing,” Republican Rep. Paul Broun of Athens said on a radio show when asked about plans for the symbolic sit-together some Democrats and Republicans are planning for the speech.

"(Democrats) want silence from Republicans ... and sitting together being kissy-kissy is just another way to try to silence Republicans," Broun said on conservative radio commentator Scott Hennen's show last week. Broun went on to suggest that Democrats were also trying to downplay their reduced numbers in Congress by spreading out and sitting with Republicans.

...

"No, I don't have a (Democratic) date and I haven't tried to make a date," said Republican Rep. Lynn Westmoreland of Coweta County. "I'll be sitting on the majority side."

It's so nice to have a rep who doesn't play footsy with the enemy. Now if we could do something about our senators ...

Any Republican who is stupid enough to perform like a trained seal for the media by selling out to the enemy should be primaried the next time they are up for re-election. He/she is not smart enough to fight for the freedom of the USA as it is being attacked by Leftist enemies.

Yea, that didn’t work out well. Isakson ran unopposed last year. Chambliss had to go to a runoff when so many conservatives voted 3rd party he couldn’t get a clear majority in 2008. Palin came and bailed him out. It’s tough to break into the Boy’s Club in Georgia.

Imagine if the Republicans had made such a gesture when the DemonRATS wer in control of everything.

They would have been laughed to scorn.

AGREED. After two years of hyperpartisanship, and DemonPASS, the Republicans want to play nice with these fiends? Infuriating.

That's what came to mind when they first proposed this stunt. Why are they doing it now? Why didn't Pelousy do it when they had their supermajority? No, then it was, take a seat on the side while we have an Obombah campaign rally and diss the Supreme Court justices who are sitting down in front.

I say, f-that. The Justices should boycott this campaign rally. And keep the parties separate. That's why we have them, to offer different ways of doing things. If they want to blend together and have an Obombah love fest, then why have the pretense of a two-party system?

There are obviously too many (R)s who don't realize that the (D)s mean to enslave us all and kill the Republic.

This is no time for a lovely bridge club get-together. It's a cage match.

Smiling takes 6.

Now you know why the Republicans continue to get their asses handed to them by the Democrats. This holds true no matter how few Democrats, or how many Republicas they are. [to liiustrate] There could be one Democrat and 99 Republicans in ther Senate and the lone Democrat would still control the Senate. Time after time as the Republican Party manages to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory it has been demonstrated that Janet Reno is more of a man than the entire Republican Party.

This is the “Lang Lang” moment of the Democrats. With a Democrat President giving the speech, who do you think will be rising to their feet more often, waving their backsides at those who are remaining seated?

My guess is that Pelosi has taught all the Dems how to fart on queue.

“This is no time for a lovely bridge club get-together. It’s a cage match.”

This is nothing but a cheap, but clever, trick to make
the congress look unified behind Obozo’s Marxist rule.
The Republicans fall for every trick in the book.
They are a bunch of freshmen frat boys pulled into fight
a gang of SEIU street thugs.
