ORLANDO If President Obama's performance during his first two years in office were a midterm exam, UCF students would assign him a grade of C+.
That's the result of an informal survey conducted on the main campus Monday afternoon by a group of student journalists as part of a news reporting class project.
On the eve of Obama's State of the Union address, the young journalists asked a random group of 57 UCF students who identified themselves as registered voters how they would grade the president. A tally of the grades resulted in an average of C+. Not a ringing endorsement -- but they're not giving up on the president, either.
While such a small sample is not statistically valid, the survey does provide a window into the thinking of an age group that voted for Obama 2-to-1 in the 2008 election.

"I'm a liberal but he hasn't done anything to end the war and bring people back home, like my boyfriend, or finish united health care, or make gay marriage legal,'' said Megan Adler, a 20-year-old hospitality management major who gave the president a B.

Not nearly as high as the B he gave himself.
Mr. Saccoh, have you considered the possibility that unemployment is still high because of Mr. Obama doing what he said he would do?
I see grade inflation is still a problem in our Universities.
I got a crazy idea,,, lets see his REAL grades instead of hearing imaginary ones.
Apparently, the only thing that needs to happen for them to give a President a C is for the United States not to have been blown to smithereens.
I believe they're currently attached to his birth certificate.
This type of thinking is alarming because (if these students can be considered to be even somewhat representative of that age bracket), they’re basically saying “Hey Obama! Where are all the goodies you promised and/or owe me?”
There’s no (or little) thought given to the fact that Obama’s policies may not be good for the US as a whole. The only thought given is “What can Obama do for me?”
I can only hope that we can write this off as the young misguided thinking that we were all capable of at one time or another. Maybe these kids will (after college) start thinking a little more logically about taxes and spending as well as national security issues.
By what metric are these grades given?
Out of control spending? Inflation? Energy Costs? Unemployment? Foreign Policy?
Or, maybe the extra-ciricular activities? Losing the Olympics? Hawaiian vacations? Golfing? Taking multiple sets of 747’s on trips when 1 would have worked?
In what area, has Jughead even warranted a ‘D’? I see “F’s” across the board.
Yet another sign of grade inflation at academia...on his best day he was a D+ no higher...
Do you know how hard it is to get a grade like a C+ in a public college these days?
Hell’s bells, in most courses you’ll get at least a “B” for just showing up sober for the final exam - one has to be a total muppet in order to pull anything lower than a “B-”!
These kids are just as big meatheads as we were in the late 60s and 70s.
The girl they quoted reminded me of a lot of the co-eds at my school.
A lot of students are used to getting a “C” just by showing up.
Idiots!
Causes one to wonder what he would have to do to get these students to give him and “F.”
I bet his grade drops with them when they get out of school and try getting a job!

We'll take it bit by bit, translating.
I'm a liberal
I'm somewhere to the left of Leon Trotsky, and so of course I'm disappointed at anything less than dictatorial measures imposing Communism overnight.
[H]e hasn't done anything to ... finish united health care
I will accept only the disaster that is EXPRESSLY government-monopoly health care! To do less is rightist running-dog deviationism!
or make gay marriage legal
Because putting two new young Justices on SCOTUS from the "make up whatever gets you the policy result you want" school of jurisprudence doesn't count!
a 20-year-old hospitality management major
I'm going to be in hotel management or catering, yet I am spending four years getting a college degree for this field which requires only a high school diploma and basic common sense.
C+ = 1950's D-
Wonder what the Mombasa Moonbeam's GPA actually was? His SATs? Did he take the Graduate Record Exams? LSAT?
There you go, with the racist sarcasm. Again! Our POTUS, aka "The Mombasa Moonbeam," just happens to be the smartest man ever born! Once you accept this self-evident fact, your life will improve. And that annoying IRS Audit may just go away.
