We used to live in Mr. Shuler’s district. Previously the NC-11 th was represented by a gentleman named Charles Taylor. The left pilloried him every way they could think of and by the way still are hounding him.
After Charles lost to Mr Shuler, the repubs ran a loose cannon numbnut from A_Sheville against Shuler. Mumpower the candidate I just mentioned must have been in Shuler’s pocket. He ran no campaign against the most intellectual of all three month NFL quarterbacks.
Mr Mumpower even asked the various republican county committees to sign some oath of fealty to his vision of being a republican. What a complete A$$!
As a result, Shuler had no opposition in his first bid for re-election. He stowed away a large hoard of cash and as such is virtually unbeatable.
Add to the above what IMHO is the root of the problem. Some prominent democrat(s) have a picture of a prominent WNC republican holding what at first glance appears to be a vienna sausage in his fingers, a closer look shows a small boy still attached to the “sausage”. Go figure. Shuler is corrupt and so are many of the other leaders in the NC-11th.
