Golden State: Everybody Must Get Stoned

From Bob Dylan’s lyrics to a real California workplace policy, progress is being made. Despite an economy on life support with only weeks, if not hours, remaining to survive fiscally before the State Treasurer of California begins issuing IOU’s for payments, legislators have come up with a plan. Their plan is now to force employers to accept employees who come to work stoned. This should really help light-up the ailing economy. It may sound like a joke, but it’s serious.

A state lawmaker in California, during the nation’s worst recession, wants to outlaw employers from firing workers who come to work stoned. Isn’t that special?

While I do not support this law, the article is misrepresenting it. It permits employers to fire workers who are stoned at work; it bars them from firing workers who smoke pot on their own time if they are legally using medical marijuana.

Since these people are repeatedly re-elected, even to the point of inflicting six more years of Babs Boxer on the rest of America, California deserves to meet a painful and swift end. It would be nice if the “good parts” could be sorted out and given a state or two of their own. Then the rest could join Mexico again.

Carol Mosely Braun is proposing for Chicago that private employers are not to be allowed to ask if a job applicant has been convicted of a felony.

It seems that a full 55% of adult black males in Chicago have been convicted of felonies and this question discriminates against them.

Take that Californians, we have barking moon bats too!

Excerpt from the originalarticle:

“SACRAMENTO — A state lawmaker this week introduced a bill that would prohibit employers from firing qualified medical marijuana users who consume pot when they’re not on the job.

The bill, proposed by Democratic state Sen. Mark Leno, also would make it illegal for employers not to hire someone solely because they use marijuana for medical reasons.”

The article gets it just a little wrong.

I’m sorry, but the only thing that can save CA is letting loose the 1st Marine Div to kill all the fascists and communists in CA or take over the fed gov and send in a division of lawyers, investigators and armed agents to hang all the fascists, communists and marxists infesting CA.

I’m open to other solutions.

California is so screwed up now that it may never ever recover.

With Brown now as governor, that seems more likely with every single passing day.

Parasitic lawyers are never going to hang anyone. :)
Shakespeare had it right:

“the 1st thing we do is kill all of the lawyers.”

Nuclear reactor tech? Airline pilot? Brain surgeon? No problem, spark it up!

You bring up a point that no one confronts in this debate slippery slope. Their are those careers and even more so art forms (yes they are artist, I know AP's ans Surgeons, the nuke guys I lost touch) that take forever to earn the moniker and they have to lead a clean life style. We will have no "seed-corn" for these careers. We will slide as a Nation from Liberty to Statist-Tyranny because one of the Tenants of that Document to destroy America we found from the Commies was to destroy the youth via rebellion. I haven't reviewed it in a while and my guess Drug Legalization is in their too. You can't take liberty way from someone not passive and stupid which is what the stoners become. They can't produce and they surreptitiously succumb to the Statist Mantra because they can't create wealth and they have no drive. This is planned, G_d help us....

No, have you read the bill. It absolutely allows stoned workers with a medical id to come to work. Stop making things up.

So if you smoke before you come to work, you can’t be fired. The article gets it right. It’s medicine, don’t forget that. One needs medicine. If not, it’s not medicine.
