The "scholarships" give to minorities are paid for by non-minority students by student loans that they will be paying for the rest of their lives.

Marx hated the middle class. He came up with a way to get rid of them.
This is illustrated in 2011. If you’re “poor” the government will just give it to you. If you’re “rich” you can buy your way in. If you’re middle class you’re given bills of the poor and rich.

Compared to costs here, it’s still a bargain to attend, even if they raise the rates.
I suppose German public Universities avoid this by being practically free to everyone. That said, there are so few places even for the top scholars, many have to wait a few semesters to receive a spot. However, the time spent waiting can be used to learn a practical trade applicable to your career interests.
