The first trailor has just been released - People are already bashing/defending.

I'm going to hold fire until I actually SEE part 1. Holding out hope.

I like that the leading charactors are relatively unknowns - that will keep the actor's personna from overlapping onto/into the role.

Let's hope that, even if the production doesn't meet our expectations, the gist of the message will be plain enough for the sleeping masses to GET IT. (And could ANY production fully encompass the book OR satisfy us?)

It's a message that has met the perfect time - maybe the last chance - to wake the people up. Let's be thnakful it's finally been made - we know it has powerful enemies that have fought hard to keep this from ever reaching the screen.

I just watched the trailor. It doesn't look bad, but I have pictures of the main characters in my head, from reading the book, and I don't see it in these actors.

But I will go see the movie before judging it. And also reread the book before I see it.
