IRAN: Hundreds march at funeral for slain student amid tension in Tehran (regime hijacked funeral)

Under tight security, hundreds of Iranians marched through the streets Wednesday in a government-sanctioned funeral for Tehran Art University student Saane Zhaleh, who died in violent clashes between pro-reform demonstrators and the police Monday.

Described by the government as the "martyr Basij," Zhaleh is said by the authorities to have been killed by government opponents when he joined Basiji militiamen to help put down the protests, which were prohibited by the government.

The opposition says he was shot by police. State television showed marchers carrying Iranian flags and shouting slogans against opposition leaders, including "Death to Karroubi!" and "Death to Mosavi!" referring to Mehdi Karroubi and Hossein Mousavi, who were under house arrest during the demonstrations.

The regime has decided to hijack this funeral and claim the victim was pro-regime when he wasn't. Everyone who knew him said he wasn't basij, and had taken part in previous anti-regime demonstrations. They are also claiming the 2nd dead victim was pro-regime and killed by opposition protesters.

Apparently, from now on, anyone killed in these protests will be labelled as being killed by the protesters, not the regime.

More lies

Am I dreaming or is the protests in Iran spreading throughout the country?

The protests in Iran have almost always spread to other cities across the country. You just don’t hear about them thru the msm very often. If you look back on the threads from Monday’s demonstrations, you’ll see reports & video from Mashad, Esfahan, Shiraz.

Once again, if the media doesn’t report it, it must not be happening.

Wow.

Compared with the Iranian Government, Fred Phelps and his pack of looney-tune coffin-dodgers suddenly look like decent people.
