Wisconsin: The Hemlock Revolution (Joe Klein takes Walker's side)
Swampland (Time Magazine) ^ | February 18, 2011 | Joe Klein

Revolutions everywhere--in the middle east, in the middle west. But there is a difference: in the middle east, the protesters are marching for democracy; in the middle west, they're protesting against it. I mean, Isn't it, well, a bit ironic that the protesters in Madison, blocking the state senate chamber, are chanting "Freedom, Democracy, Union" while trying to prevent a vote? Isn't it ironic that the Democratic Senators have fled the democratic process? Isn't it interesting that some of those who--rightly--protest the assorted Republican efforts to stymie majority rule in the U.S. Senate are celebrating the Democratic efforts to stymie the same in the Wisconsin Senate?

There is no irony here. Only clarity.

The worldview of the Left is a house of cards.

They think they support freedom. But they don't.
They think they support choice. But they don't.
They think they support democracy. But they don't.
They think that truth is on their side. But it isn't.
They think they are helping the poor. But they aren't
They think they are helping minorites. But they aren't.
They think they are the Good Guys. But they aren't.

Bit by bit, this is becoming clear to people as the decline and the bankruptcy of our country become obvious.

Joe Klein is into series drugs.

When his pals read this, and start the tweet sheet, Joe will become "reeducated".

Whoa...this isn’t something one would expect. Ever.

Although oddly enough - this morning on MSNBC the whole panel of libs (I include Joe as one) was saying this is really bad- the Dems and union members should be ashamed of themselves and folks have to step up and realize THERE IS NO MONEY to continue as it’s been.

Well I have to say the article was very good even if a liberal wrote it he made a lot of good points. I think people should read it all.

So the teachers salaries pay directly $1100 per year to the UNION...get that? The people of Wisconsin pay for the destruction of their democracy by the union thugs...our White House is “organizing” and sending out of state thugs in to destroy the people of Wisconsin’s democracy with federal taxpayer’s money...

Credit where credit is due: This is a very good and factual editorial by an unlikely source. Kudos to Joe Klein.

Oh my gosh, a pig just flew past my window!

When lifelong lefties such as Joe Klein start recognizing that ‘elections have consequences’ and that the Wisconsin Democrats and unionized public service workers are being both arrogant and immature in their shrieking, crying and protesting (in a vile manner) then you know things are getting bad and the left sees catastrophe coming, with their butts on the line as the cause of most of the economic problems facing numerous states, not just Wisconsin.

But we've had far too many state legislatures, of both parties, that have been cowed by the political power of the unions and enacted contracts that force state and city governments to be run for the benefit of their employees, rather than for their citizens.

Bingo. It has come to this. The Government Employees no longer work for us. We work for them.

It is time to change that.

I hate to use hyperbole but this is a fight to the death. The dems and the unions cannot lose this one or they are finished. Like they did for obamacare in the Senate and House they will pull out all of the stops and collect all IOUs. The GOPers must stand fast. The dems and media will ridicule them and drag their families through the mud. I am sorry but that is the way it is.

I caught the end of the show where Mika storms off because she’s a little sour puss and can’t wait for it to end. Joe had said he was behind the union and gave the thumbs up as he departed, then little Willie threw it to the Savannah and Chuck side show. Did you catch that?

Being in newspapers and mass media these days is very difficult with lots of layoffs and salary cuts. So even liberal media people don’t have much patience with these insanely greedy teachers and other public employees. Their scam is known to everyone now.
