Earlier this week a pirate told an Associated Press reporter in Somalia that pirates would target Americans in retaliation for the sentencing. The pirate, who identified himself by the name Hassan, said Americans would suffer “regrettable consequences.”
Pirates have recently tied hostages upside down and dragged them in the sea, locked them in freezers, beaten them and used plastic ties around their genitals, the commander of the European Union anti-piracy force, Maj. Gen. Buster Howes told AP this month.

Agree. While I have no issue with our special op’s guys going in and wasting a bunch of these so called pirates, I would hate for any harm to come to our military guys and gals because of the stupidity of these two people. I have read that these people used all their assets to purchase their boat and to finance this trip. Sooo, my dark side being what it is, I have pondered the possibility that they purposely put themselves in harms way so to improve their chances of being kidnapped, thus providing themselves with certain financial opportunites once released, i.e. books, interviews, movie deals. Just saying... :)
Agreed. Why is it that everytime we have to send in the rescue mission its for some bunch of misguided missionaries handing out bibles. I’m all for spreading the word but how about to somebody who might be interested? Somalia? I don’t think so. Well those poor folks will have months if not years to sit and try to convert the Muslim pirates who have just captured them. It will be interesting to see how that turns out.
