University of Wisconsin Medical School Investigating Doctors' Notes at Protest
Fox News ^ | 2/21/11 | Todd Ciganek

The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is investigating whether some of its doctors wrote fake sick notes to people protesting the governor's plan to strip public union employees of the right to collectively bargain. Over the weekend, FOX News reported that doctors from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine were manning a doctor station to write medical notes excusing those protesting at the Wisconsin State Capitol from work. Physicians were seen standing on a street corner wearing lab coats and giving out medical notes.

I want to know where LAW ENFORCEMENT falls with this issue. Are the union cops going to enforce the law or not?

UW is second only to Michigan as the most liberal campus in the Big Ten.

If teachers used doctors notes to claim a (paid) sick day rather than an unpaid unexcused absence, both they AND the doc can be charged with conspiracy to defraud the school system.

I hope it’s not news that there are doctors now who will do ANYTHING for the government!! Including committing fraud and other crimes!

The Attorney General of Wisconsin, whose office would make the decision to indict, is a Republican.

I expect the radical-leftist physicians who handed out the notes will 'double down,' as that strategy has become popular in recent years. They will expect the professional organizations that attempt to safeguard the integrity and prestige of Medicine to knuckle under rather than go to the mat against an obvious whoring-out of their ancient profession for a political agenda; a petty, childish, and ultimately very dangerous political agenda at that.

Do they know that the Communists, led by Pol Pot, in Cambodia, specifically targeted physicians for extermination in that country? They targeted all educated persons, but medical doctors were first on the list. The reason was simple: the town Doctor is typically the most highly educated person in any small town, and one of those most able to think critically and honestly. Therefore physicans were identified as possible nuclei for counter-revolution and, as a consequence, were systematically massacred.

Will the "grown up" MDs be smart enough to realize how serious this challenge is, and react strongly to it? Recent history is not encouraging on this, but we'll keep hoping.

We should jump on this next time it happens and pose as “Obama Doctors”. Lab Coats are cheap, giving a union thug a provable fake Doctor’s note is priceless.

If unionized LEOs are shirking their duty,
I’d encourage the Gov, Atty Gen, or whoever has legal authority to deputize a militia.

According to a post/thread earlier today, something more than half of Wisconsin’s School budget consists of Federal funds - which makes this a Federal beef...

Paging Mr. Holder!!!!

Assuming any of these pony tailed freeks were actually salaried doctors, they had patients they neglected.

Patients who showed up at the ObamaCare type clinics with no doctor available, since the third rate hack was downtown terrorizing the democratically elected legislature.

This is gross medical negligance, abandonment of patients, and dereliction of duty.

The School investigating these doctors is a bit like the Federal Government investigating itself.

I wonder if parents of kids who aren’t in school and who had to pay for childcare and/or stay home from work themselves would have a case for reimbursement? How about suing a teacher who has been shown to use one of these notes for lost wages? Or, sue the WEAC leadership for giving the directive for these “sick” days.

Indict??? Indict??? I would think the union cop personnel could arrest like they do when there's a speeding ticket or pedestrian violation of the law.

It's LAW ENFORCEMENT and that's what the union cops do all the time. They practice LAW ENFORCEMENT and arrest people all the time.

Good. I doubt that some of their colleagues are happy about what happened.

In medicine, reputation means a lot.

Fraudulent doctors’ notes would protect them from punishment by their employers even though they weren’t sick and were out protesting.

Not really. The names of these quacks are everywhere and the school districts will know not to accept these excuses. If they do, they will be an accessory to the fraud.

Any doctor providing these notes needs to be prosecuted for fraud and stripped of their medical license. The Governor should spearhead this.
